This small group wine tasting tour lasts approximately four hours, allowing you to explore the renowned Niagara-on-the-Lake wine region. Morning departures occur at 9:45 AM, returning around 1 PM, while afternoon tours start between 1 and 1:30 PM and conclude around 5 to 5:30 PM. The tour includes visits to both small and larger production wineries where a range of varietals are available for tasting, highlighting Ontario's celebrated ice wine.
You can enjoy hotel pickup from any Old Town hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake for the morning tour, and from any Niagara-on-the-Lake or Niagara Falls hotel for the afternoon tour. It's important to note that morning hotel pickups for Niagara Falls are not available; guests can instead meet at the office located at 1627 Niagara Stone Road. Be sure to have some food before your tour, as meals are not provided.

We had an amazing wine tour during a Bachelorette weekend. Our guide, Tom, was incredibly considerate, meeting us with umbrellas on a rainy Friday and taking excellent care of us throughout the day. Tom's expertise was invaluable, offering helpful tips that enhanced our experience. We explored three smaller wineries: Palatine, Between the Lines, and the somewhat larger Bella Terra. Each winery gave informative presentations and delightful wine tastings. Between the Lines even offered charcuterie with their tastings, along with an impressive range of red, white, sparkling, and dessert wines, allowing us to customize our experience. Additionally, all wineries permitted us to sample more wines at the bar afterward if we were interested in purchasing them. I wholeheartedly recommend Great Escapes for anyone seeking a wine tour in Niagara on the Lake.
While visiting friends in Buffalo, NY, we were advised to try this outing. We gathered at the Grape Escape office where our lovely and humorous guide, Diane, took us to three distinct wineries, making the afternoon engaging. We were pleasantly surprised by the vibrant wine region in Southeast Ontario and left with some wonderful wines. Chin-Chin!
The trip was enjoyable, and the wineries we visited were great. However, I wished our guide had shared more historical information about the region instead of just driving us around. Additionally, the heavy perfume the guide wore made the car ride uncomfortable.
Thom was truly exceptional. He picked us up from our Niagara Fallsview hotel in Ontario and provided us with a private tour, which felt special and intimate. He taught us how to taste wine properly, shared laughs, and genuinely connected with us. Thom went above and beyond on numerous occasions, giving us the perfect balance of private time to converse. He was well-acquainted with everyone he met and displayed impressive knowledge about the area, sharing interesting historical insights and details about the local geology. Visiting three wineries was just the right amount of time, and the cheese plate at the second winery was perfectly timed. I’m so pleased we chose this experience with Grape Escape and felt fortunate to have Thom as our guide; he far exceeded our expectations and made the tour unforgettable. You will not regret this choice.
My partner and I had an enjoyable experience. We sampled a wide range of wines, and the highlight was Dave's friendly guidance, ensuring everyone was having fun. We discovered many local wines that aren’t typically found on store shelves, which we happily took home. They were accommodating with our dietary needs as well. The bicycles were very comfortable, allowing us to relax without worrying about our purchased bottles, which were transported for us. We simply rode, sipped wine, and had a great time. A special mention to Dave… I highly recommend this.
I had a great time, and our host Diane added to the enjoyment with her delightful and humorous personality. We went to three wineries, enjoying two of them thoroughly. Considering the price, an extra winery would have been a nice addition to the tour.
