He deserves a raise and shows potential for management. Though he asked for discretion in these comments, his above-and-beyond attitude deserves recognition. Jay contributed greatly to making our Rhode Island vacation successful, and I would highly recommend him to friends and family for a sailing experience.
The weather was fantastic, and the sailing experience was seamless. The crew was great overall, but I was puzzled when they asked for a gratuity, especially since I had prepaid a 15% tip earlier that morning.
This sunset cruise was enjoyable and offered breathtaking views. Although it rained a little before departure, causing a drop in temperature, they provided blankets to keep us warm. The crew was both professional and friendly.

We had a fantastic time on the Classic sunset cruise aboard the Madelaine in early September 2025. The sailboat was immaculate, and the captain and crew were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient, adding to the stunning scenery with entertaining stories about various sites along the way. We highly recommend the Classic sailboat cruise on the Madelaine during your next trip to Newport, RI.
I initially reserved a spot on a boat, but several weeks later, I was informed it was unavailable, leading me to book another boat. On the day of our planned cruise, it was canceled because of weather conditions. Thus, I can't comment on the quality of the experience since we were unable to complete the cruise. Overall, we are quite disappointed with our experience so far.
I recently took a sunset cruise on the Schooner Madeleine with my two best friends as we celebrated 30 years of friendship in Newport. We had an incredible experience and loved being guided by an all-female crew. I highly recommend this cruise.
