This was truly the finest guided tour I have ever taken. Steve, our guide and a 7th generation Newporter, has an incredible wealth of knowledge. He brought us to locations that typical tours miss. We even visited the International Tennis Hall of Fame during that day's Audrain Car Show, which was a remarkable experience. We explored the entire island, and I would gladly do this trip again! Make sure to book with ISLANDADVENTURES.com.
This tour offers a fantastic overview of Newport, making it ideal for those with limited time. It's also a perfect opportunity to identify places to explore during a longer visit. Our guide, Steve, was punctual, very knowledgeable, and friendly.
The tour mainly showcases the stunning mansions and the scenic cliff walk in Newport. The architecture is impressive, and the views of the water are equally beautiful.
We had an excellent experience on this tour. While on a cruise, we decided last minute to explore Newport and booked this tour. The weather was perfect, and the guides were very knowledgeable. We gained a lot of historical insights and enjoyed visiting various attractions. They took us to the International Tennis Hall of Fame, which was impressive and would have been hard to find on our own. We also visited several mansions, Fort Adams, the Cliff Walk, and the harbor. The guide even recommended a great restaurant in town, which turned out to be delicious. Our group of six agreed that this was the highlight of our cruise, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Newport.
I’m thrilled to finally write this review after it disappeared for a while. During our first visit to Newport, we opted for the Open Air LSV with Kyle, and it was the best choice. She was very knowledgeable and took us to numerous locations, and you can request additional stops if you wish. If we return, we would definitely do this tour again with Kyle.
Steve was an exceptional guide, providing a fantastic overview of Newport and its history. Although we had explored the peninsula by car, touring in an electric golf cart with a knowledgeable guide was a much better experience. Steve brought us to fantastic photo spots inaccessible by car, and we gained so much insight. This should be your first activity upon arriving in Newport.
This tour was excellent, featuring a knowledgeable and enjoyable guide. It provided a fantastic overview of Newport, helping me identify which sights I wanted to explore further.
Even if the weather is chilly, don't hesitate to go on this tour since it has a roof and windows. David provided us with excellent information, and I enjoyed the blend of historical facts and humor. I would definitely suggest this tour to friends.
This was a complete waste of time and money. The guide didn't show up, there were no facilities, and it turned out the guide had another job and the tour operator failed to address that. A thoroughly unprofessional experience. Avoid this at all costs.
Steve from Newport Tours provided a wonderful experience during the Open Air LSV tour. He was very accommodating and shared extensive trivia about Newport, both general and historical. Having returned to Newport after over 40 years, I mentioned the “Dark Shadows” Mansion and the old “Shamrock Inn.” Though the names have changed, he knew exactly what I was referring to, which was a nice connection for us baby boomers.
