Gandhi Smriti
New Delhi, India

Gandhi Smriti is the site of the former Birla House, where Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in 1948. The museum preserves the room where he spent his final hours and features a poignant collection of photographs and exhibits chronicling his life and philosophy of non-violence. The surrounding gardens invite quiet reflection and remembrance.
Plan for an hour to explore the exhibits and gardens. It’s best visited in the cooler months to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Nearby, you can find the peaceful Raj Ghat memorial and the sprawling India Gate, which are both easily accessible on foot.
