Feroz Shah Kotla Fort
New Delhi, India

Feroz Shah Kotla Fort is a medieval fortress built in the 14th century by Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlaq, featuring the ruins of a mosque and an impressive 13-metre-high Ashoka pillar dating back to the 3rd century BCE. The fort's remnants reflect the architectural style of the Tughlaq dynasty, set amidst a sprawling area of ancient trees.
Visiting the fort provides a glimpse into Delhi’s historical layers, ideal for an hour or so of exploration. It’s best experienced in the early morning or late afternoon when temperatures are milder. The nearby Daryaganj area has an interesting mix of markets and eateries worth checking out.
