Small group tour exploring the ancient Cantalloc Aqueducts, an ingenious 2000-year-old irrigation system in the Nazca desert.
This guided tour delves into the Cantalloc Aqueducts, a remarkable ancient irrigation system developed by the Nazca people around 2000 years ago. You'll learn how these aqueducts, designed to collect water from underground channels and the Andes, transformed the arid landscape into arable land capable of sustaining crops.
As you explore the site, you'll appreciate the engineering prowess of the Nazca civilization. This small group experience allows for more personal interaction with your guide, who will share insights into the culture and techniques that made life possible in such a harsh environment. The experience was quite disappointing, as the tour was advertised as one hour but ended up lasting only 30 minutes. Our guide, Luii, seemed rushed throughout, which hindered our ability to appreciate the aqueducts. We also had just 10 minutes to view the Nazca lines from the towers, and the journey from Huacachina to Nazca felt unengaging. Overall, the value of this tour did not meet expectations.
A fantastic option to explore in Nazca beyond the flight! The tour was excellent, and the guide was outstanding. The transportation was also impressive.
I recently arranged a private aqueduct tour with PeruHop, and it was definitely worthwhile. The guide provided great insights, and I was fascinated by how the aqueducts are still in operation after all this time. The Inca civilization truly showcased remarkable engineering and planning skills.
I arranged a private tour to visit the Aqueduct and was delighted with my guide's company, the professional service, and the welcoming environment. The site was captivating, and I gained a greater appreciation for this exquisite culture. Thank you!
This tour was outstanding, offering a wealth of historical insights in a peaceful setting. The guide did a fantastic job explaining the construction and purpose of the aqueducts. I highly recommend this experience.
The tour was fantastic. I gained a great deal of knowledge about the Nazca civilization, including their methods of finding underground water and constructing aqueducts that have lasted over 2000 years. Our guide, Carlos, was excellent—knowledgeable, kind, and humorous. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nazca.
This experience was a delightful surprise. We arranged it via PeruHop after our morning flight over the Nazca lines, with some free time before heading back to Huacachina. I took three teenage boys with me, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. We could walk down to the aqueduct’s base and check out the flowing water, even spotting fish swimming. There was ample time for exploration, and our guide provided excellent insights into the aqueduct’s construction and answered our questions about the Nazca region. I strongly endorse this tour for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of the area's history.
This tour was truly captivating! The three destinations were fascinating, and our guide was exceptional—friendly and incredibly well-informed about the region.
The aqueducts are stunning and showcase the engineering skills of the pre-Inca era. Remarkably, most of them are still operational today. Located on the outskirts of Nazca, they can be accessed by traversing the city or by taking the road around it and entering a short distance.
The tour was quite brief, lasting at most half an hour at the site. The guide was engaging and shared interesting information for about 10 minutes, after which we had free time to explore on our own.
