Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Our guide Jason was excellent, and we had the chance to see dolphins swimming close to our boat. We also enjoyed shelling on an island and went fishing, where we caught multiple fish. Our family really enjoyed it and would love to do it again.
We had an incredible time! Captain Joe was outstanding. Our first stop was Shell Island, where I discovered an abundance of beautiful shells. After fishing, we concluded our tour by seeing dolphins—both experiences were fantastic, and we would definitely return! Until next time, Captain Joe!
Captain Joe was fantastic. Our Eco Tour lasted four hours and was just right. I would definitely recommend it.
Kevin was fantastic. I rarely give five stars, but he earned it. His friendly and adaptable approach suited our group perfectly. He had a deep understanding of the environment and fishing, and it was a pleasure working with him. He assessed our group’s preferences and modified the fishing activities accordingly throughout the day. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely book again.
We started our day at 8 a.m. with Captain Jason from 4th Story Charters, departing from Goodland, FL, near Marco Island. We had such a great time with him last year that we couldn't wait to go again. After discussing our options via text—whether to stay in the Thousand Islands for snapper and snook or head near shore for goliath grouper—Captain Jason suggested we travel 13 miles south to fish for permit at a wreck. That turned out to be a fantastic choice; we barely got the first rod in the water before a permit was on the line. My nephew Joey wrestled it in after a 20-minute battle, and shortly after, he hooked another, which his cousin Robbie helped him reel in. Both permits weighed about 20-25 pounds and measured around 32 inches. Captain Jason ensured we mixed in some bottom fishing with two rods while the other two focused on permit. The bottom fishers had success with some sheepshead snappers and jacks. Although the older guys on the boat hooked a couple more permit, they lost them before we could get them near the boat. Captain Jason then moved us to a different hotspot just a few minutes away, where Robbie landed another large permit to wrap up the morning. We returned to the dock by noon, and Captain Jason cleaned our fish before sending us to the Snook Inn in Marco, where they prepared our catch—half blackened and half fried. It was a fantastic lunch and an excellent day on the water. I highly recommend this experience.
Absolutely perfect trip! Captain Joe was fantastic. I would rate it 12 out of 10. We began with dolphin watching, ventured to the island to collect shells, caught some small fish, and ended the day landing a massive shark!
Captain Kevan provided an excellent experience during our four hours on his impeccably clean boat. Our guide was patient with us as beginner fishermen and assisted us in catching over a dozen fish. The tour was well-balanced, offering relaxation and enjoyment. Four hours solely for fishing would have been excessive for us, making this combo tour perfect with ample time for exploration, fishing, learning, and unwinding.
Captain Jason was exactly what we were looking for. He was relaxed and knowledgeable, making everyone feel comfortable. The timing for shelling and exploring was just right. We saw dolphins, and his expertise added to the excitement. Everyone caught a range of fish thanks to his knowledge of the best spots.
Our family had an amazing experience. Jason was a fantastic guide, and we enjoyed having dolphins follow our boat. We found some beautiful shells and even caught a variety of fish, including sharks and a manta ray.
Kevin was fantastic! My husband and our two kids, aged 8 and 9, had a wonderful time. We got to see dolphins up close, went fishing, and Kevin even encouraged my 9-year-old daughter to enjoy fishing. He promised my 8-year-old that he would help him catch a shark, and he delivered! We also discovered many beautiful intact shells to take home. We would definitely go on another trip with Kevin.
