The approximately one-hour boat journey from Naples to Keewaydin was pleasant, with the pontoon accommodating a maximum of six passengers, ensuring plenty of space. We had lovely weather—warm and sunny, but comfortable. The tour began in narrow canals and eventually reached the busy southern tip of Keewaydin, where we spent roughly two hours. The area lacked significant amenities, with little shade and no facilities; however, we were provided a folding camp chair with a canopy, water, snacks, and a towel. Our captain, Alex, even managed to attract some dolphins during our ride back, which was a highlight. After walking about a mile, we returned to our starting point and soaked in the "boat life" atmosphere while enjoying water and snacks until our pickup. The water temperature was a bit chillier than typical for South Florida, around 72°F, so we only ventured in slightly.
The tour operator provided an outstanding experience from beginning to end. We opted for the 9 AM tour, which was ideal as it allowed us to avoid crowds at Keewaydin and easily find space on the beach. Booking was simple, and the communication from the operator was prompt and helpful. Captain Alex was an excellent host, highlighting various wildlife and sharing local information. We spent several hours on the beach, and the included chairs, towels, snacks, and water bottles were great perks, along with a bag for our shells. On the way back, we spotted dolphins, and Captain Alex skillfully positioned the boat so they could surf in our wake. With only six guests, everyone had a great view of the ride. I highly recommend this experience and would gladly do it again.
