Great Point Lighthouse
Nantucket, USA

Great Point Lighthouse is a coastal beacon situated on the northern tip of Nantucket, first constructed in 1797 and rebuilt in 1856. The current structure stands 26 metres tall, with a distinctive white and red paint scheme, guiding sailors through the treacherous waters of the surrounding shoals and shifting sands.
The surrounding area offers a rugged beach and expansive dunes, making it ideal for a quiet stroll or a day of sunbathing. Accessible via a 4×4 vehicle on dirt roads through the Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge, it’s best visited during the quieter, cooler months to appreciate the isolation and nature.
