  Aqua blue water with sharkies.

  The guides were friendly, and the diving experience was stunning. There were many sharks, and the water was exceptionally clear with plenty of coral. The food was also quite good.

  Do it!

  This trip was wonderful. It begins with a ferry ride to Kuata Island, followed by a quick boat ride to the stunning reef. We encountered numerous black and white tip reef sharks, octopuses, squids, many fish, and pristine coral. After about an hour of snorkeling, we returned to an island resort for lunch and some relaxation. Later, the ferry returned to take us back. Having snorkeled at many locations, I can confidently say this reef is exceptional.

  Fantastic encounter with sharks

  The experience was definitely worth navigating the logistics and the unexpectedly lengthy walk to the boat meeting point, which occurred four times. It allowed for an incredible encounter with sharks, a stunning reef, and a diverse array of fish. Improved communication regarding the trip's organization, such as boat boarding and gear access, would have been beneficial. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this experience. A little extra time, around 10-15 minutes, for shark viewing would have been appreciated. The buffet lunch was tasty, featuring a good selection of food and plenty of vegetarian options. I am grateful for a wonderful day overall.

  Ultimate Snorkel with Reef Sharks in Fiji

  I booked the Ultimate Encounters Snorkel with Reef Sharks through South Sea Cruises, which included a buffet lunch at Barefoot Kuata Island. I arranged this last-minute for my final day and it was an incredible experience. The full day trip from Port Denarau was relaxing, and I even managed to nap both ways. Upon arriving at Kuata Island, we transferred to smaller shuttle boats from the cruiser. After a safety briefing and putting on life jackets and flippers, I used my own snorkel and goggles. We then headed out on a 15-minute boat ride to the reef. Once in the warm waters, I was thrilled to see three reef sharks swimming around—an amazing encounter. They had a photographer to capture the experience, and I got an underwater cover for my iPhone to document my adventure. After about 30 minutes, our time with the sharks ended, and reluctantly, we returned to the boats. Back at the resort, we enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch and had 3-4 hours to relax, whether by cooling off in the pool or snorkeling at the beach. Kayaks and paddle boards were also available. I received all the beautiful photos via Wi-Fi right away. I left with wonderful memories of snorkeling and swimming with the reef sharks.

  This was an outstanding experience on a stunning island with an amazing team. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking about visiting Fiji.

  Wow!!!

  This tour exceeded all my expectations. The main boat ride from Denarau lasted about an hour and a half, leading us to smaller boats that took us to a quaint resort island. The experience was remarkable. Upon our arrival, the staff welcomed us with a song, which I found delightful. The snorkeling was fantastic; the water was crystal clear, and the corals and fish were vibrant and abundant. We spotted 3-4 sharks, which was a thrilling experience, but the real highlight was the stunning reef itself. After snorkeling, we enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch with a great variety of food. I would highly recommend taking part in this tour.

  Swimming with sharks

  Swimming close to the sharks was an incredible experience, and Oli captured some fantastic footage of them swimming around me. The food afterward was exactly what we needed.

  SHARKS AWESOME , do be afraid

  This experience was unforgettable and incredibly fun. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, making the day amazing. I recommend getting the video package because the videos are fantastic keepsakes. The food was great, and the locals on the island were really kind, enhancing the day. Just be ready for a long day, especially if your resort is located further from Port Denarau.

  As an avid ocean lover I...

  As someone who loves the ocean, I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Welcomed by locals singing, the island was stunning. Despite my doubts from earlier reviews regarding time spent with the sharks, I found the duration reasonable for a day trip. After the shark dive and lunch, we had some free time, which allowed us to snorkel off the beach and further enjoy the ocean, although we didn't encounter any sharks there.
