This three-hour trip departs from Port Denarau, taking just 30 minutes to reach South Sea Island, where you’ll have two hours to explore. The semi-submersible vessel allows you to view colourful coral and a variety of fish without getting wet, making it suitable for children to spot sea life safely. After your underwater adventure, enjoy time on the island with options for swimming, kayaking, or simply relaxing on the beach.
Hotel pickup and drop-off from most Nadi and Denarau properties are included in the tour. Be ready for a fun-filled family outing suitable even for younger children.

Pickup for the South Sea cruise can be arranged from Denarau hotels, included in the booking cost. The bus was clean and arrived on time. Inside the port, it was straightforward to find the ticket collection point using the QR code from our booking. The ferry ride to the island was quick, followed by a transition to a smaller boat. Free soft drinks were offered as promised, but note that lunch is not provided during the half-day trip. Since the sand consists of coarse coral and shells, it's advisable to wear crocs. The glass bottom boat ride was brief yet suitable for young families, but it can get quite warm inside. After a quick swim, we headed back on the boat. This excursion is ideal for families with younger children, particularly those under 10. We brought our 4 and 6-year-olds, and it was a great experience. Any longer and they might have become restless, so the half-day duration was perfect.
Our family of three enjoyed the half-day South Island tour. It was a pleasant experience with efficient operations, friendly staff, and a lovely nearby island. The snorkeling revealed a large variety of fish. However, the 90 minutes on the island felt hurried, so I suggest opting for the full day instead. Upon returning to the marina, it was somewhat disorganized figuring out the transfer back to our hotel, given the numerous buses and people leaving simultaneously. Clearer instructions and more visible staff would improve this part of the experience.
This experience offers excellent value, featuring a pleasant ride and numerous activities included in the package. It was ideal for my four-year-old, and we loved seeing the reef from the submersible boat. We enjoyed it so much that we booked a full day trip for the following week. Bringing our own snacks meant we didn't have to spend extra, as activities and drinks were all provided. Highly recommended for the price.
The beach island is lovely, but having only half a day there felt insufficient for truly enjoying it. Leaving at 12:00 PM would have been much better.
We went on a half-day trip as a family with three kids, including a toddler. They had a wonderful time, particularly thanks to the accommodating and friendly staff, and we loved the lovely weather in Nadi.
The check-in was efficient, and the catamaran ride to the island took about 20 minutes smoothly. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us warmly. We enjoyed swimming in the clear ocean and had some complimentary beers, with soft drinks for the kids. The semi-submersible experience was entertaining. We engaged in snorkelling but were surprised to find no guided snorkelling was included; we had to return to the mainland sooner than expected. For next time, I would prefer the half-day option that provides lunch and more time on the island. Since the Finding Nemo tour arrives first, it wasn't crowded, allowing for a more leisurely exploration. Overall, it was a beautiful day.
We ended up missing our pickup as we were waiting at the hotel and didn't receive clear information about the designated pickup location. Consequently, we had to call a taxi.
The trip was pleasant, but the time allotted on the island felt insufficient. With the 30-minute boat ride each way and additional time for orientation and departure, you only have about 90 minutes to explore. Although the water was cloudy due to a recent cyclone, the glass bottom boat was a fun experience for the children. It would be better to choose the half-day cruise for an extra hour to take advantage of the activities available on the island.
Our experience on the Finding Nemo tour was fantastic. It offered an ideal duration for young children, allowing them to enjoy the water without becoming overly tired. The smaller group size on the island during this tour made for a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the full day trips. The glass bottom boat was a highlight, providing a great opportunity for the kids to view the reef. We highly recommend this for families.
We arranged our trip through the hotel concierge, seeking something that would suit our limited schedule. In hindsight, a half-day excursion would have been preferable to enjoy more time on the island. After arriving and taking the submarine ride, we found ourselves with only thirty minutes to swim and kayak before it was time to leave. The area is beautifully equipped and surrounded by lovely scenery. We would love to return for a longer visit. The complimentary drinks were an outstanding bonus.
