The journey includes a drive of approximately 20 kilometers to Srirangapatna from Mysore city. Although located close to Mysore, Srirangapatna is part of the Mandya district. This town is completely surrounded by the Kaveri River, forming an island. • A highlight of the day is a visit to the Ranganthaswamy Temple, dedicated to the Hindu deity Ranganatha, an incarnation of Vishnu. This temple is one of five key pilgrimage sites along the Kaveri River for Ranganatha's devotees, collectively known as the Pancharanga Kshetrams in Southern India. • Another key stop is Devaraja Market, which offers a glimpse into the daily lives of local residents. With over a century of history, this market is an integral part of Mysore's heritage, showcasing a vibrant and traditional Indian marketplace that is colorful and lively. • Daria Daulat Bagh, or 'Garden of the Wealth', is a palace located in Srirangapatna. Constructed in an Indo-Saracenic style primarily out of teak wood, the palace features a rectangular layout on a raised platform. Its most striking aspect is the vivid frescoes that adorn the walls, pillars, canopies, and arches, reflecting the style of Mysore paintings. • The tombs of Tipu Sultan and Hyder Ali are also found in Srirangapatna. Resembling the Golconda tombs, these feature an elegant square chamber topped with a brick dome. The intricate craftsmanship is showcased in the carved stone windows and artistically designed ebony doorways inlaid with ivory. An ancient mosque is also present within the complex.
