We had an incredible experience. Initially, I thought it would just be a simple and enjoyable day, but coming back on the bus after the plantation, I realized how much we had done. The bus driver was both professional and entertaining. My husband playfully mentioned that he heard the driver might take us for dinner, and the driver humorously replied that there was a Wendy's and he'd even allow us to get a biggie size.
The horse carriage ride was quite entertaining with great narration. However, the lunch during the harbor cruise felt disorganized, and the harbor commentary seemed scripted rather than tailored to the specific cruise experience.
This was a great tour that offers a lot to see. Even though it feels lengthy, you'll wish for more time. Overall, it made for a good day.
Initially, we were confused about the location, but the bus driver assisted us with directions. Although it started off a bit stressful, it turned out to be quite relaxing. There is quite a bit of walking involved. I couldn’t take in everything due to fatigue, but the highlights I did see, which were the key sites I wanted to visit, were stunning. Our bus driver, Brian, was excellent.
The day trip to Charleston was truly an exceptional experience. It featured a horse-drawn carriage ride through the historic district, time spent at Fort Sumter, and a scenic boat ride where we spotted dolphins and admired lovely homes. Boone Hall Plantation was stunning, with its grand old oak trees lining the driveway, slave cabins, and an informative tractor tour. The day was rich in history and enjoyment.
During our stay in Myrtle Beach, we opted for a day trip to Charleston. We chose tour number 7, which included a carriage ride, a lunch cruise, and a visit to Boone Plantation. Everything went smoothly, and we enjoyed our time in Charleston.
We waited for over an hour, but no one came to pick us up. We spent the entire morning trying to contact someone to find out what happened.
Everything was exactly as described. We had a wonderful experience and gained a lot of knowledge. The carriage ride was fantastic, and Paul provided valuable insights.
The tour was decent overall, showcasing several highlights of Charleston as well as some of Boone Plantation. However, it would have been better to explore more of the plantation and learn additional history. The carriage ride was enjoyable and informative, with the guide highlighting many historical details about Charleston. The boat ride was just average, although I found the box lunch to be the best part. The narration was uninteresting, and I didn't appreciate the focus on tipping. If I had the chance to go again, I would only participate in the carriage ride and visit the market.
There was no opportunity to explore the market, which was very disappointing. If you want to experience the market, I wouldn't recommend the boat ride tour. The round trip took about 2.5 hours, and we didn't get any time for ourselves there.
