This notable fortress was once a military stronghold designed to withstand intense attacks and sieges. • Adjacent to the fortress is the expansive Nizwa Souq, a local market featuring a diverse range of products, including jewelry, pottery, fish, and meats, among others. • Next, the drive continues to the base of Jebel Akhdar, where the old village of Birkat Al Mauz is located. • Following this, a visit to the Al Kattmyn Irrigation System will take place, recognized as one of the five UNESCO heritage irrigation systems. • The final stop is at Jebel Akhdar, also referred to as the Green Mountain, which is home to numerous fruit plantations and rose gardens.
