The driver and guide provided excellent service. He was surprisingly articulate despite his limited education, and he was very friendly, making an effort to meet all our needs.
Arti and Mukesh made for excellent tour guides. They were friendly, accommodating, and provided thorough explanations throughout. I highly recommend this tour.
It was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Raj, had extensive knowledge, and the individual guides we encountered in the synagogues were excellent, sharing valuable insights into the history of Judaism in Mumbai.
I had the chance to experience a Jewish Heritage Tour in Mumbai, and it was one of the most impactful parts of my trip. The tour skillfully combined history, architecture, and personal narratives that illustrated Mumbai’s Jewish heritage. We explored several synagogues, such as the beautiful Keneseth Eliyahoo and the historic Magen David Synagogue, gaining insights into the Bene Israel and Baghdadi Jewish communities' contributions. Each synagogue was a remarkable reflection of culture, spirituality, and architectural beauty, and I was met with warm hospitality. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and had strong ties to the community, enriching the experience significantly. The tour also included Sassoon Dock, Gateway of India, and Victoria Terminus, all seamlessly incorporated into Mumbai's diverse cultural story. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in history, interfaith dialogue, and uncovering an important yet underappreciated aspect of Mumbai’s heritage.
My father and I had a delightful and educational experience on the Jewish Heritage tour. Due to our tight schedule, we could only join the tour on the Sabbath, which limited us to two synagogues. However, we were fortunate to meet one of the rabbis and several congregation members, who graciously invited us for lunch. Furthermore, my father gained significant insights into his family's ties to this wonderful city. This tour was truly outstanding, led by friendly and knowledgeable guides. It was certainly the highlight of our time in Mumbai. We appreciate it and look forward to returning.
Raj was fantastic. He is an incredibly kind person. I highly recommend taking a tour with him. He was very accommodating and genuinely eager to ensure we had a great experience.
We appreciated the presence of our guide and driver. We gained a great deal of knowledge and shared some enjoyable moments together.
Mukesh is an excellent guide who organized all the tour venues ahead of time to ensure smooth access and participation. He treats his tour group and security personnel with respect. His extensive knowledge of Mumbai's history and demographics is impressive, and he comes across as a caring family man. Thank you, Mukesh.
This tour is not worth your time or money. While our driver Mukesh and his companion were friendly, the experience fell far short of expectations. There was supposed to be a comprehensive introduction to India's Jewish communities, but there was no guide to provide the promised information, only a brief mention by someone at Tipheret Israel synagogue. The Magen David synagogue was inaccessible due to renovations, and the Knesset Eliyahou synagogue lacked an explanation of its significance. We missed the Shaar Harahamim synagogue and the David Sassoon Library entirely, despite my inquiries about them. A stop at a shop offered inflated prices for souvenirs. The $150 spent felt entirely wasted; I could have explored these sites on my own. This tour did not deliver on its promises, and I believe I deserve a refund or at least part of my money back.
The guide was friendly but not very knowledgeable about the topic. For $75 each, there seemed to be no clear plan for what to see, which made it feel like it needed to be both shorter and less expensive.
