I was initially asked to pay for the audio description on the tour despite having already made a payment. Eventually, I received the audio tour headsets without the added cost. The tour itself was decent but only lasted 40 minutes, instead of the promised 50. The audio guide wasn’t beneficial, and our tuk-tuk driver spoke very little English.
The 50-minute tuktuk ride to Matera offers a handy introduction to the city. The explanations are brief, and the cost covers entry to a cave house and several photo opportunities. You may leave feeling a bit unsatisfied.

I took part in the tour through the stones in a calessino and explored the Murge park, Golgotha, and the Rock Churches with Francesco, the archaeologist, who was knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming. The agency's team was incredibly accommodating to our requests. I strongly recommend them to anyone visiting Matera for the first time.
