The entire experience with our guide Kevin was fantastic. We explored the Tulum ruins, where Kevin spent an hour sharing their history, then swam with turtles, which was truly unforgettable, and finally, we visited stunning cenotes that took our breath away, even though they were quite cold. Kevin stayed with us throughout our snorkeling and cenote swimming, offering an hour-long tour of the ruins along with an hour of free time. Lunch was included, which was nice, but I recommend eating beforehand since lunch is served after all the activities. A big thank you to Jose, our driver, who picked us up and transported us to all our locations and back to our hotels! All in all, it was a well-organized day, allowing us to see all the incredible sites, paired with a wonderful guide and driver. Thank you!
Jonathon was a pleasant tour guide with extensive knowledge about the ruins. However, our turtle guide, whose name we didn't catch, swam quickly with flippers and expected everyone else to keep pace. The snorkel gear allowed water to enter through the mouthpiece, and at one point, our guide swam off without us, leaving us to catch up from about 40 meters away, despite having only six people in our group. We managed to see two turtles, although our group and at least one other crowded around them. Lunch at the cenote was excellent, and the location itself was stunning. Our guide provided a lot of insights, and swimming among the small fish was a memorable experience. Our driver was also impressive, demonstrating exceptional safety behind the wheel.
The staff were exceptional throughout the entire process, from booking to the tour itself, which is why I rated this experience three stars. However, the tequila tasting was not well scheduled, occurring between 8 am and 10 am, which felt inappropriate for drinking chocolate along with it. We were the only ones who paid the extra tax through the link, resulting in a 40-minute wait in the heat while the staff sorted out issues for others. I didn’t expect to pay additional costs on top of my booking fee; I should have looked into that more. The turtle experience was particularly disappointing; it felt rushed and involved quickly swimming in a U shape rather than truly snorkeling to observe wildlife. The cenote visit was great, but the lunch was just average, likely due to catering for so many groups. Overall, I feel that tours like this may not be worth the money. It might be better to plan your activities independently and negotiate taxi fares to get where you want to go, paying only the entrance fees. Unless you can afford a private tour that prioritizes your experience, I would advise against it.
This tour was fantastic, offering insightful historical context about Mayan culture. It was a treat to visit a cenote and snorkel with turtles. Our guide Ro was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, while Jonathan, our driver, provided snacks and water. The lunch was tasty, though we did have to be cautious of raccoons. I highly recommend this experience.
Amigo tours canceled our tour the night before it was scheduled. We couldn't find a way to rebook with them while we were traveling. We ended up paying more to book with another operator on a different day than originally planned.
We enjoyed an unforgettable day filled with incredible experiences. The early entrance allowed us to explore the Tulum ruins in a relaxed manner. Snorkeling with the turtles was amazing; I had never seen such a large turtle right beneath me, along with rays and other fish. The visit to the closed cenote was fantastic, featuring bats hanging from the ceiling. As someone who usually feels anxious and avoids deep water, I'm really proud that I managed to do it all. The guides were excellent, easing my fears and ensuring I could fully enjoy these activities. I wholeheartedly recommend this trip.
