Full-day tour with transportation — explore Tulum and Coba ruins, swim in a cenote, and enjoy traditional lunch and tastings.
This full-day tour captures the essence of the Yucatan Peninsula, combining history, adventure, and flavours. The day begins with a visit to the cliffside ruins of Tulum, where you’ll explore the remnants of the ancient Mayan port city. Next, you’ll continue to Coba, where the Nohoch Mul pyramid, the tallest in the region, awaits your exploration.
After touring both sites, cool off with a swim in a cenote, swimming through clear waters surrounded by striking rock formations. A buffet lunch featuring traditional dishes rounds out the day, along with tastings of local chocolate and tequila, where you'll learn about their production. Expect a packed itinerary that intertwines cultural insights with culinary delights.

The day started slowly with an early pickup, and our guide arriving 15 minutes late. While the sites were fascinating, the bilingual tour made it hard to follow. I was expecting multiple tastings, but we only had one cacao bean at the first stop. Last year's tour was completely in English with a more knowledgeable guide, which is why we chose Amigo again. The guide was friendly, but he could improve his language skills and historical knowledge.
I rarely give negative feedback, but my experience with Amigo Tours was extremely disappointing. It's best to spend your money elsewhere. Here’s why: - We wasted three hours just picking up other passengers, with the actual tour starting at 10:00 AM, which wasted valuable time. - Our visit to Tulum lasted only 40 minutes, with the guide talking for 10 minutes and leaving us just 15 minutes of free time, which isn’t sufficient to see anything. - The pricing was misleading; although life jackets were supposed to be included, the guide demanded extra payment while appearing quite arrogant. - They sent a link for site fees the night before, but it didn’t work. I had to contact them on WhatsApp for a proper link, only to discover a hidden $3 USD fee per person. - Overall, this tour is pricier than its competitors, yet the service is subpar. Considering the hidden costs and time wasted in transit, it's simply not worth it.
The cenote was truly amazing, and the ruins provided a great experience. Although Tulum didn't fully meet our expectations, its views of the coast were stunning, and we encountered plenty of iguanas along the paths. Marcela was an energetic and engaging guide, though there were moments when it was challenging to hear her. I appreciated how she allowed us plenty of time to explore independently without feeling rushed. Coba was fantastic, and I highly recommend renting a bike or trike to get around, as it’s essential to see everything. New wooden steps have been added to the Coba ruins, and we climbed up in groups of 20, which was a bit tricky due to their unevenness, but the views were rewarding. Biking to the quieter sections of the site was worthwhile, and we spotted monkeys, ocellated turkeys, and more iguanas. After all the activity, we treated ourselves to ice cream and fresh coconut. The buffet lunch was satisfying, and I was grateful to eat before heading to the cenote, which was incredible. We explored caves filled with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites and even saw some small bats on the ceilings. The water felt wonderful after a full day of biking, climbing, and walking. Be sure to bring a towel, a change of clothes, swimsuit, water shoes for the cenote, as well as water, sunscreen, sun protection, and cash for tips and souvenirs. It was a long day, but it was a fantastic way to see so much in one trip.
This was truly one of the best day trips I've experienced. Our guide, Rodrigo, was fantastic and took the time to share insights about the Mayan history, culture, and customs. Swimming in the Cenote and exploring the caves felt like having a private experience, as we were just a small group of 10 and had the place to ourselves. I highly endorse this trip.
I had an excellent day. The guide was great, and we accomplished a lot. It felt a bit hurried at Coba for those on foot, but we took a tricycle and saw everything we wanted. I especially enjoyed swimming in the cenote and exploring the cave.
It was a long day lasting about 16 hours, but the experience and our guide were excellent. The bus was comfortable and provided refreshments like water, soft drinks, and beer at each stop. Alejandro, our knowledgeable guide, answered all our historical questions thoroughly. Tulum and Coba offered unique perspectives on Mayan ruins, located on the windy coast and in the inner forest, respectively. Climbing the steps of Coba was a highlight for me. The local lunch and Mayan blessing added a nice touch to the day. Swimming in the cenoté was a relaxing and refreshing experience in a beautiful underground setting, with only our group present. I found the stop in Playa del Carmen a bit crowded, but it was a brief visit, and the sorbet was delicious. I highly recommend this tour and suggest bringing some snacks for the day.
We enjoyed a fantastic day trip from Cancun, lasting a total of 12.5 hours. It took some time to travel to Tulum and Coba. Paul was an excellent guide, and Juan our driver. Each stop was stunning and definitely worth it. The lunch provided was delicious and consisted of a simple buffet.
Jorge was an outstanding guide, providing a wealth of knowledge and assistance throughout the trip. It was an incredible experience, especially climbing the pyramid at Coba, which was the highlight. We had sufficient time at each location, enjoyed a great atmosphere, and the group size was just right.
This trip was truly enjoyable. Our guide was well-informed and made the bus ride engaging. The bus itself was quite comfy. The cenote was definitely the standout feature; we had it all to ourselves, allowing for ample space to swim and appreciate the refreshing water. The lunch was satisfactory, and while the time at Tulum and Coba felt a bit limited, we were able to see all the key attractions. I highly recommend this tour; Ray was our excellent guide.
Starting the day in Tulum was a smart choice—fewer crowds and cooler temperatures. Coba was fantastic, although a bit more time would have been appreciated. The cenote we visited was stunning, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. However, the van was cramped for such a long journey, offering little legroom. The lunch break was quite late, and with an early start, be prepared with some snacks. While the guides were bilingual, it would be more effective if they spoke complete sentences in each language instead of mixing them.
