Reviews
The guide reached out to us prior to the tour and greeted us promptly at the port with a sign. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided clear explanations about everything we encountered. We appreciated the diverse range of stops, including the fishing boats, vegetable nut factory, hat presentation, and chocolate stops, all of which were highly informative and educational.
This tour was fantastic, particularly the hat-making experience. We observed the final stages of creating the hat, which ended up fitting my husband perfectly, so we decided to purchase it. An incredible tour overall.
I had an excellent time visiting the beautiful city of Manra.
The tour offered a fascinating mix of experiences. Our guide, Jorge Elias, did a fantastic job. We especially loved visiting the fish market and watching the hat-making demonstration.
Take note of the shopping time, as it can delay others. We appreciated learning about the production of chocolate, vegetable ivory, and Panama hats. The fish market was delightful and not at all smelly. Some aspects of shipbuilding were intriguing. The museum itself wasn’t particularly impressive, but the view from the mountain was enjoyable.
We docked on an NCL cruise and wanted to customize our tour. I contacted Fernando, and together we created a tailored agenda focused on three activities: visiting the chocolate factory, making hats in Montecristi, and enjoying a nice lunch. They executed all three flawlessly. Our guide, whose name I can't recall, was professional, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We had plenty of time at each stop, and everyone in our group had positive feedback. While I received recognition for organizing this tour, the real credit goes to Fernando. We all indulged in the delicious and affordable chocolates, half of us purchased "Panama" hats, and we all savored a meal with a lovely view. Excellent job!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience learning about Manta and the warmth of its people. The demonstrations exceeded our expectations and were greatly appreciated. The meal we had at the end offered delicious food with a wonderful view of our ship and the harbor. Everyone involved was professional and helpful, even assisting with language translation. Overall, we were very pleased with everything.
This tour was exceptionally well organized. Everything ran smoothly, thanks to our enthusiastic guide Juan Carlos, who navigated us through various locations efficiently, even with the crowds. I strongly recommend this experience.
We spent a significant amount of time strolling through a fish market by the shore, showcasing extremely fresh catches from that morning. However, since we were all from a cruise ship, purchasing fish to bring onboard felt pointless. We also visited a factory that crafts jewelry from large dried seeds, and I was surprised by how hard the material was; shaping it required machine tools. It was a unique experience. Then, we checked out a panama hat workshop, where the craftsmanship was rare and the quality of the hats was exceptional. Nevertheless, few in our group were inclined to invest in one.
We had a great time on our tour. The guide was very engaging and made an effort to help those in the group who required extra assistance.
