I recently enjoyed a tour with Wai Linn Aung (Linn), who proved to be very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I strongly recommend this tour for those looking to escape the city's chaos. We visited a rice processing facility, a farm cultivating unique mushrooms, a charcoal brick production site, and a local restaurant where we sampled delicious snacks and green tea. Although the scenery could have been better, the warmth of the locals compensated for it. Overall, I highly endorse this tour.
This tour offers an excellent opportunity to escape the city and explore the beautiful countryside around Mandalay. Our guide was friendly and well-informed, making our conversations enjoyable. The trips to local farms and tea houses stood out as the best parts of the experience.
I had a fantastic morning cycling through Mandalay with Hlaing Phyo Oo and the team. We explored the market, visited the world's largest book, rode past rice paddies to a local rice and mushroom farm, and stopped at a traditional tea house. It was an excellent way to experience the city and surrounding villages, with delicious food throughout. I highly recommend this tour.
The morning ride was both fascinating and informative. If you're interested in the Burmese way of life, this tour is highly recommended. The guides, Than and Zin, were kind, attentive, and professional. The bikes were great. We truly appreciated the lovely day and all your efforts, especially in retrieving the forgotten jacket. The guide was outstanding. It was a pleasant experience exploring the Mandalay countryside with various stops at markets, farms, and rice processing sites. I thoroughly enjoyed the half-day tour.
I had a fantastic experience with Wai Linn Aung, who served as my connection to the local culture and people. We delighted in the food and beautiful views. Moreover, he is a responsible guide, checking traffic conditions and alerting me to any potential hazards on the road.
The tour with our guide San was enjoyable and offered fascinating insights into the lives of farmers and villagers as we cycled through the countryside. I highly recommend it. However, this was my second experience booked through a service, and I encountered an issue. When I reserved the tour, the meeting point was not specified; it only mentioned Mandalay, which led me to reach out to Grasshopper via WhatsApp for more details.
Wai Linn Aung, our guide, was friendly and provided us with a wealth of information on the history and agriculture of Mandalay. The tour of the rural area was excellent.
We participated in both the morning and sunset tours in Mandalay. In the morning, Than Htike Aung guided us to a local market where we enjoyed some tasty local snacks before heading to the countryside. The ride was quite hot with limited shade, but the highlight was observing traditional workshops and how local people continue to process goods. Than was an excellent, friendly guide who consistently checked on us and provided information during our cycling. For the afternoon tour, the van dropped us off outside the city before we began cycling. We were fortunate to witness a novice procession featuring children on horses, cows, and even an elephant. Wai Linn Aung was our guide as we cycled through the ancient city of Inwa, visiting traditional family homes where he explained their trade practices. This ride was interesting, relaxing, and well-shaded as we explored less touristy areas of Inwa and made our way to Ubein bridge for a sunset boat ride. Both tours had easy, flat cycling paths, but the afternoon ride was particularly enjoyable due to more shade and scenic views. Additionally, there was no overlap between the two tours, making them both unique and engaging, although the sunset boat ride at Ubein bridge was the only busy spot. I highly recommend cycling with Grasshoppers, though two tours in one day can be tiring. If I had to choose, I found the afternoon tour to be more enjoyable.
I really appreciated my bike tour. We visited temples and sights I had not encountered even after spending five months in Mandalay. Our guide was informed and considerate of our physical abilities. I ended up visiting several of the tour locations multiple times during my remaining five months in the city.
