I participated in the half-day tour of Mandalay and the drive to Bagan, finding it to be a convenient way to explore the attractions in Mandalay. My driver was cautious and skilled. Although not a guide, he spoke English and provided basic information about the sights.
We had a wonderful experience on the half-day sightseeing tour with Mr. Yay. We opted for the 2pm pick-up to catch the sunrise from Mandalay Hill, which was stunning. Mr. Yay is an excellent driver, always punctual, and gives you the freedom to enjoy each stop at your own pace without any pressure. He's very courteous, opening doors and providing complimentary water, and his English is good. He answers questions but also respects your space by not over-talking, which we appreciated. We liked him so much that we requested him for a trip to Dee Dote Waterfall a few days later. Visiting on a weekday meant we had the place to ourselves, and we highly recommend this experience—it was truly blissful. Thank you, Mr. Yay, and thank you, Royal Gold Tours.

The sights were beautiful, just as one would anticipate. However, the driver had difficulty communicating about our destinations and engaging in conversation. While he was friendly and the car was clean, I found the journey somewhat dull and uncomfortable due to the heat (no air conditioning) while traveling solo. On a positive note, I appreciated the LV seat covers—a nice touch.
