Mingun
Mandalay, Myanmar

Mingun is a riverside village known for its monumental ruins, including the unfinished Mingun Pahtodawgyi, a colossal brick stupa meant to be the world's largest. Constructed in the late 18th century under King Bodawpaya, it was abandoned after a series of earthquakes, leaving a striking 50-metre structure that dominates the landscape.
Visitors can explore the massive site, which also features the world’s largest uncracked bell, weighing 90 tons, and the elegant Hsinbyume Pagoda, resembling a white wave. The best time to visit is around sunrise or sunset for softer light and fewer crowds, providing a serene glimpse into the region's rich history.
