Located in a peaceful office park in Chantilly, the store is easy to find thanks to clear signage. River-Sea stands out due to its commitment to sustainability. Their customer service is exceptional, with a warm welcome from Danielle, who was assisting another guest, while Melissa, our chocolate guide, prepared our tasting. Despite arriving early, Melissa encouraged us to begin as soon as she was ready. She introduced us to cacao beans and showed us images of cacao farms, explaining the sustainable chocolate-making process from "bean to bar," which we found intriguing given our limited knowledge. The chocolate tasting itself was enjoyable and delicious. With Melissa's expertise, we were impressed with our ability to identify the diverse flavors in each chocolate sample. After the tasting, we had plenty of time to choose our favorite chocolate bars and savor freshly made craft hot chocolate. For those not interested in bars, River-Sea also offers wine and chocolate truffles, along with options for hot chocolate and chocolate-wine pairing tastings.
