Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is an extension of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, completed in 2003 and located near Washington Dulles International Airport. The facility houses an impressive collection of aircraft and spacecraft, including the Space Shuttle Discovery and the Concorde, all displayed within a soaring glass-enclosed hangar. Visitors should allocate a few hours to explore the numerous exhibits that trace the history of aviation and space exploration. The accompanying Boeing Aviation Hangar offers additional displays, while the observation tower provides a vantage point for watching planes take off. Weekdays are usually less crowded, allowing for a more relaxed experience.
