Yesterday, I experienced an aerial tour of the vineyards in a red biplane. From 3,000 feet, I enjoyed breathtaking views of the perfectly arranged vineyards and the complex irrigation systems, which helped me appreciate the vastness of Mendoza's wine region. We even flew around a hot air balloon a couple of times. In the WWI-style biplane, I felt like The Red Baron, and I can only imagine the striking photos the hot air balloon captured. The pilot was not only friendly but also skilled, as we successfully landed on a dirt runway. This biplane adventure was undoubtedly the best part of my trip to Mendoza.
This was an incredible adventure. We had a wonderful experience with Charlie O'Maley, who drove us to the airfield where we met the pilot and his son. We explored the San Martin Aero Club and got to see several planes, including a Stearman biplane and the Cessna Skymaster used for our flight. The aerial views were fantastic, and we even flew under a hot air balloon. We were lucky to have perfect weather—clear and mild. After landing, we spent more time with the pilot and his son, and received certificates to commemorate the experience. If you enjoy aerial views, this is a must-do. Thank you, Charlie, for such a special experience. Sam & Jasmine Santa Barbara, CA
