• You will be collected from your hotel located in the Lucknow city center and transported to La Martiniere in an air-conditioned vehicle. You can choose to start your walking tour in the morning at 10:30 AM or in the afternoon at 2:30 PM. Upon reaching the school, you will meet your local guide who speaks English and commence your walking tour. La Martiniere was constructed by Claude Martin, a Frenchman, as his grand residence. The building features a combination of Roman archways and elements reminiscent of a Gothic horror film, alongside turrets and gargoyles atop numerous Corinthian columns. This tour will provide insight into Claude Martin’s ascent to Major General in the British East India Company. The school has received numerous accolades, including 'The Battle Honors' for its defense during the Residency in 1857. Throughout the tour, you will explore various lesser-known areas of the school and will have the opportunity to enjoy tea and snacks at the school canteen. At the end of the tour, you will be returned to your hotel in Lucknow.
