The wineries were enjoyable, and spending time with friends was lovely; however, it felt overpriced for the limited number of wineries and tastings. For example, Osprey had 3 tastings for $10 and 5 for $15. Given the cost of the tour, it would have been reasonable for Winston to cover the 5 tastings. Keith, our driver, was excellent.

It's likely to be a decent tour if you take the initiative to research three wineries you'd like to visit and handle your own reservations. A picnic lunch means you'll need to prepare your own food, and the tour is pricey—$590 for two, plus a 15% tip, with tasting fees not included. I was specifically looking for a winery tour that offered pick-up and drop-off on Long Island and had to book this option since I only gave two days' notice, as regular tours weren't available. They were prompt in answering questions about pick-up locations, and the driver was friendly. The pies and cookies we encountered on the way were excellent. However, the issue was with the wineries. It seemed like last-minute planning limited our options for popular places. I wished to visit a cider house to relax, and although it was confirmed to count as one of the three wineries, I felt that a cider house shouldn't be classified as a winery. Eventually, the driver negotiated with the office and added a different winery to our itinerary. Ultimately, it was a costly decision driven by lack of research, but the experience itself was enjoyable. If you manage to visit the wineries of your choice, it could turn into a rewarding private tour worth the investment given the travel distance.
