The hike to the waterfalls was challenging, but the local guide was supportive during the tough sections. It's definitely worth the effort, though be aware that it requires a good level of fitness, especially for older participants. 3. Rafting on the Jangkok River in Lombok, Lombok6

    6. Rafting on the Jangkok River in Lombok

    4.9· 15 reviews· 4 hours

Two-hour rafting session on the Jangkok River — a 6.5-kilometre route with class II-III rapids, suitable for beginners, surrounded by lush landscapes.

Our driver Augustus picked us up right at the cruise port. He was a fantastic driver and guide. We got off the ship early, and he was there holding a sign with our name. His car was spotless and in excellent shape. During the journey to white water rafting, he shared interesting facts about his country and pointed out key landmarks. The drive took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. After waiting for others to arrive, we walked a short distance to the rafts, where my partner and I had our own raft. We spent just over an hour on the river, which was a thrilling experience. At one point, we had to leave the rafts briefly because of strong rapids. We were given the option to jump off a 20-foot rock or descend a ladder; I chose the ladder but would have preferred the jump if I had known how difficult it would be. One of the guides captured numerous photos and videos and shared them with us at no extra charge. Once we returned, a lovely lunch awaited us, complete with bottles of water. We enjoyed rice, chicken drumsticks, fried potatoes, corn, and prawn fritters, all with a delicious chili sauce. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour, though be ready for some walking and the challenge of getting in and out of the raft, which was a bit tough for us older folks.karen_h
