I highly recommend the Ijen blue flame adventure, thanks to Komang, our guide and tour designer. He expertly organized everything, including transportation and breakfast, and was attentive to our needs, ensuring we didn’t linger too long and could see the blue flames. A local guide assisted during the hike, which was beneficial since the steep and rocky path in the dark can be challenging, but he kept our 10-year-old daughter safe, allowing us adults to hike without worry. The only downside was the weekend crowds, which slowed things down; a weekday visit might be better to avoid the rush. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
Mufi served as our guide and she was fantastic! Her knowledge of the local culture and geography was impressive. The hike was incredible but quite challenging, especially if you venture down into the crater to see the flames. We had everything managed for us and enjoyed breakfast the following morning.
