Reviews
A nice way to explore Liège, the riddles added an enjoyable element to the walk. You can ask for tips if you're unsure of an answer or skip them if needed. Expect to walk for around 2 hours, not factoring in additional stops for drinks, especially if you take the time to read all the information in the app. Note that the starting point differs from the ending point. Parking at "Interparking Liège - Parking Saint Georges" is convenient since it’s close to the end, saving you from returning to the starting point. It was unfortunate that the station, a highlight of Liège, wasn't part of the route, as we felt that was a missed chance.
The stations were engaging, but the questions felt overly simple and somewhat dull. Overall, the value for the price doesn't seem to match up.
The experience didn't conclude at the starting point as mentioned in the description. Unfortunately, the stairs weren't included, and I was too exhausted to visit them. However, there were enjoyable puzzles to solve and a nice brisk walk along the way.
The route was enjoyable and featured stunning views. It meandered through the stairs and required close attention to detail in the alleys, though it's unfortunate that this hasn’t been fully incorporated yet.
We had a great time participating in this scavenger hunt. The task feels like a fun version of 'who is the mole?' and it's enjoyable to do as a group. I appreciated the option to finish it later. On the first day, we completed assignments 1 through 8, and the next day we tackled 9 and 10.
The selected attractions are excellent, allowing for a comprehensive view of the city. The extra information provided is very informative, and the lack of time constraints is a significant advantage.
Liège has captivated us for years with its intriguing contrasts, balancing beauty and imperfection. The tram ride spans 12 km along the Meuse and through the city center, showcasing its historic churches and the grand palace of the Prince-Bishops. We've visited numerous times with our camper in Outremeuse, always feeling safe. Bart Jungmann's book, "Liège, a declaration of love," has been essential for exploring its hidden gems. The city has a unique atmosphere, a sense of mystery, and a distinctive French flair that keeps inviting us back, especially when the weather cooperates.
This guided walking tour in Liège takes you to ten fascinating sites, each with a puzzle to solve based on the surroundings or nearby plaques. I relied on hints to complete them all, but there’s a skip button if you get stuck. The highlight for me wasn't one of the ten buildings but rather a 378-step staircase mentioned during the tour; I backtracked to see it. I believe it should be officially included so that others can stop and learn about it. However, I rated this tour four stars instead of five because it didn’t conclude at the starting point as advertised. I ended up confused and walked the wrong way for a while before finding my way home. I appreciated the flexibility to pause and resume the tour. My husband and I began it on our first evening, and I finished it alone the next day while he was in meetings. One memorable part was strolling through a three-story shopping mall to reach Saint Lambert’s place; I initially missed the turn but was glad to rediscover the mall later.
The AI voice can become irritating over time, and there is quite a bit of scripted content. However, it remains enjoyable for smaller groups. The puzzles were not overly challenging for adults, but they did offer some difficulty. Overall, it's good, though not exceptional.
This is a wonderful initiative. We visited unique locations that we likely wouldn't have discovered on our own. I highly recommend it.
