Exploring Liège was quite an experience. Touring the city is straightforward. I was impressed by Guillemins station and appreciated the challenge of climbing the 374 steps of Montagne de Bueren. The locals are very welcoming.
The exploration of Liège was wonderful, with a well-structured route. The game offers a unique perspective on the city, allowing you to appreciate its beautiful monuments in a new way.
We enjoyed a day in Liège, where we experienced the city center in an engaging manner, which was a fulfilling aspect of our visit. However, we encountered some issues with translation along the way. For instance, the use of "Luik" instead of Liège posed a challenge while playing the game. There was also a question related to house numbers that added confusion, and we found that some translations were off—one question incorrectly used “August.” These translation hiccups disrupted the flow a bit, but overall we had a great time and explored much of the city.
We expected a higher quality experience by paying for the tour, but the questions were poorly phrased, and we didn’t feel like we learned much. We wouldn't choose to do this again; the free course sounded more appealing.
A pleasant stroll that leads you to locations you might not typically explore. It's also straightforward to navigate.
We spent EUR 31 but did not receive any email by 1:30 PM, which means we missed out on the tour. Feels like we lost our money.
We participated in the scavenger hunt in two teams. Even with the constant rain, it was enjoyable for everyone. While we all correctly answered the question in the Latin Quarter, the program did not award any points. There seems to be an error in the program.
The scavenger hunt allowed us to explore parts of Liège that we definitely wouldn't have seen on a typical city tour. It was an enjoyable experience, and we would book this again.
We had a lovely day exploring Liège, a city we mostly knew by name. Discovering the charming streets and lesser-known areas was particularly enjoyable. We will certainly return in the future.
There’s a lot to enjoy in Wallonia, particularly in Liège during the year-end. We were drawn to the Christmas market featuring 'the chalet de Chimay.' Instead of driving back, we opted to stay in a youth hostel on rue Simenon, where the downside was the elevator's distance and our room being on the fourth floor. However, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast buffet and found the staff to be welcoming. January brings the festive sauerkraut, bacon, and sausage celebration. We also visited the impressive exhibition at the Boveriemuseum showcasing French photographer Robert Doisneau's work from the 1930s. Nearby attractions include the 'La Belle Liegeoise' bridge over the Meuse to Guillemins station, designed by architect Calatrava, and the futuristic shopping center Media Cité. Our month was filled with visits to the charming Jacques-Pelzer jazz club and events at l'An Vert, located near the Saint-Pholien flea market, which is lively each Friday morning. We enjoyed an Orval with a Croque Madame at the brasserie Le Toussaint while listening to tales of market finds. The Sunday market at La Batte also has its charm. The tourist office is situated in the old custard house, a great place to gather more information about local events. Wallonia will soon prepare for its carnival celebrations, and Binche is a must-see on your itinerary.
