It was a lovely and calming experience that I would happily repeat. The crew was wonderful, the beaches were stunning, and the semi-submersible submarine tour was included, along with a barbecue and local entertainment.
The island is stunning and perfect for relaxation. We enjoyed paddleboarding, kayaking, and the glass bottom boat ride, all of which were enjoyable. While the snorkeling wasn't the best we've experienced, it was satisfactory. The food was decent, and the complimentary drinks were excellent. My 15-year-old and I had an amazing scuba experience. I highly recommend this activity.
Our time at South Sea Island was enjoyable, especially the lunch and water activities. We were surprised by the 12:30 pickup for the island hopping tour, which caused us to return to the port later than we planned, making us late for our next excursion. The islands were impressive.
I had an excellent experience on this tour. We enjoyed a full day at South Seas Island with plenty of included activities. After that, the ship served as a taxi, providing a 2-hour tour of 6 additional islands, offering so much to see.
The experience was disappointing. Although we got a discounted trip through Wyndham, we anticipated a visit to the island that included a glass bottom boat and snorkeling, followed by more snorkeling around the islands. After spending about 2.5 to 3 hours on the island, the remainder of the day consisted of sitting on a ferry that made stops at different islands, which felt tedious. While snorkeling and the glass bottom boat were acceptable, there weren't any chances for actual reef snorkeling. I wouldn’t suggest this for children, as they found it boring and were frustrated about sitting on the boat for three hours without snorkeling, contrary to what we had promised them. It took away half a day of our Fiji holiday. Additionally, the operators provided us with the wrong wristband, leading to confusion as we had to clarify our situation with every staff member.
It was a fantastic day spent on a beautiful coral island, with friendly staff and great entertainment. However, it would have been helpful to provide better instructions for first-time snorkelers to get acquainted with the equipment before entering the sea. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
It was a wonderful day on the island, well organized with a nice and ample lunch. However, the return cruise was quite bumpy and felt a bit lengthy; I would have preferred an earlier return to port.
We were looking for a half-day excursion during our brief stay in Fiji, and this trip was advertised as a 3-hour island visit starting at 8:45 am. After booking, we were instructed to catch the bus at 7:05 am, with a representative informing us this was to ensure we reached the dock on time. In hindsight, a cab would have worked just fine, but I was concerned about finding the departure point at Port Denarau. Instead of a leisurely start, we were picked up at 7:05 and arrived at the port by 7:30, 1 hour and 15 minutes before departure. The actual island experience was enjoyable: lovely scenery, entertaining dancers, tasty food, friendly locals, and nice snorkeling. However, the return trip was unexpectedly long as our boat stopped at at least seven other resorts to pick up and drop off guests. Instead of returning to the dock by 12:30, we ended up getting back to our bus at 3:00 pm, followed by a 20-minute ride to our hotel. In total, this “half-day excursion” consumed over 8 hours of our limited time in Fiji, which was quite disappointing.
The South Sea Island Combo tour was an excellent option for our day. The snorkeling provided an opportunity to see vibrant fish and coral. We loved the tasty lunch and enjoyed the traditional songs and dancing. The return cruise through the islands offered a lovely view of their locations.
The excursion was fantastic despite the conditions being too rough for the glass-bottom boat or submersible sub. The food was enjoyable, and while more wine options would enhance the experience, the entertainment was outstanding. However, booking through Trip Advisor was frustrating, as the site frequently crashed and resulted in double bookings. After several hours on the phone, I was eventually able to sort out the information and refund issues.
