This full-day tour starts with a pickup from your Nadi hotel, leading you to Pacific Harbor/Navua, known as Fiji's adventure capital. You'll cruise along the Navua River, surrounded by lush rainforests, gorges, and cascading waterfalls. A highlight is a refreshing swim in the largest waterfall on the river before you glide down the water on a traditional bamboo raft.
Afterwards, a Fijian warrior accompanies you to a village meeting house where you participate in a customary yaqona (kava) ceremony, a meaningful experience reserved for special visitors. You'll learn about the village's history, established by John Humphrey Danford, and enjoy cultural dances performed by locals. The tour wraps up with a hearty buffet lunch of traditional Fiji-style "Lovo", showcasing local flavours.

This experience provided a fantastic glimpse into Fijian culture. We enjoyed a wooden canoe journey up the river through rapids to a secluded waterfall, perfect for a refreshing swim. The return trip involved both canoeing and a bamboo raft, during which Captain Issac shared details about his village's history and current life. We also visited his village, where we had a delicious traditional Fijian lunch, far superior to resort offerings, followed by captivating displays of cultural dances and art expertly presented by Nem. This excursion is a must when in Fiji.
An incredible immersion in Fijian culture! The experience included a scenic boat ride, a fun raft adventure, swimming in a waterfall, a sacred ceremony, a snake dance, and a delicious Fijian lunch. I wholeheartedly recommend this excursion.
This excursion in Fiji is truly a must-do. Although our van ride from Denaru Island took about 1.5 hours, it was well worth it. The locals in the Fijian village are incredibly welcoming and there’s much to learn about their culture and customs. The waterfall is stunning. Our group mainly consisted of retirees, yet we all managed the boat rides, the brief hike to the falls, and swimming. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch prepared Lovo-style by the villagers.
Our day in Fiji on this tour was among our favorites. The guides were fantastic and made the experience very enjoyable. We loved every aspect of the day and would definitely suggest it. Although we visited during the wet season in March and the river appeared muddy from recent rain, we still had a great time. Staying in Port Denarau meant a longer travel time, but this tour remained one of our top picks. If we come back to Fiji, we will do this tour again.
This cultural experience with the locals from Navua Village was relaxed, enjoyable, and very enlightening. Nem is a hardworking, hilariously sarcastic leader who clearly loves his role. The Lovo lunch and cultural performance were exceptional, especially the fish, taro, and lolo dish, which was my favorite. Praneel, our driver, ensured that the long drive was less stressful. I strongly encourage you to book this experience if you find yourself in Nadi; you won't regret it. For a more adventurous option, consider the river tubing experience available from the same village, just across the way. I highly recommend this! Thank you, and see you later!
I highly recommend this place. As a first-time visitor to Fiji, I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I arrived. The welcome was incredible, and check-in was smooth and friendly. My room was outstanding and cool. The adult-only areas, including the pool and restaurant, provided a serene atmosphere. It was the most enjoyable week I've experienced, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I had a wonderful day, thanks to guide Nem, the boat drivers, and the villagers. They demonstrated genuine pride in their home, the environment, and in providing guests with a delightful experience. Nem was not only knowledgeable and passionate but also very entertaining. The scenery was enchanting, and the waterfall was stunning. The visit to the village was relaxed, welcoming, and educational. Lunch was abundant and delicious. I appreciate the help given to accommodate mobility challenges, making the entire experience accessible.
