Four hours visiting the Garden of the Sleeping Giant and Tifajek mud pools and hot springs, with mud baths known for their therapeutic benefits.
This four-hour tour takes you through the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, where you can admire an extensive collection of orchids. From there, head to the Tifajek hot springs and mud baths, known for their purported healing properties thanks to the natural sulphur content.
Conveniently located between Nadi and Lautoka on Viti Levu, this combination of botanical beauty and therapeutic relaxation is popular with both locals and tourists. The mud baths provide a unique experience meant to rejuvenate the skin. Bring a change of clothes for the mud baths, and be prepared for a relaxing time in a picturesque setting.

The pickup from a Wyndham Denarau in Fiji was timely, and the drive was very safe, even on unpaved roads to the Sleeping Giant. We had plenty of time to explore the gardens before being taken to the mud pool and hot springs. Our guide was always polite and shared a wealth of local history. We highly recommend his services.
The tour could have been improved, as it mainly involved just drop-offs at each site. We were grouped with another couple from a different hotel, and since they had their mud bath at a different location that included a massage, it disrupted our schedule significantly.
The experience was shocking. We were taken in an unsafe, 20-year-old vehicle with four warning lights on the dashboard and serious issues like seatbelt alarms. The vehicle seemed barely held together. We had to end our tour early, only able to visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, due to our concerns about the dangerous road conditions. It’s hard to understand how such a vehicle could be used for international tourists. I recommend choosing another company that prioritizes safety and respects its clients. Our driver, Rush, was aware of the situation and drove cautiously on the rough road, but it's very disappointing for a country that depends on tourism.
Visiting the village was fantastic, and the gardens and views were beautiful. The mudpools offered a unique experience too. It’s best to go later in the day when it’s cooler and less crowded.
This day trip is a must-do! The gardens are stunning, with easy walking paths and plenty of rest areas. The mud bath was enjoyable, leaving my skin feeling great afterward. Located in a Fijian village, Wild Bill and the women there are very welcoming, though amenities are basic, so bring your own water. Eli, our driver, was fantastic—friendly and informative, making the ride enjoyable.
I was informed that the driver would return after one hour, but I ended up waiting at the beautiful garden for an additional hour without any updates from the driver or the company. Even the garden staff attempted to reach out to them. This was very disappointing.
We were picked up from our hotel and began our day at the gardens, which showcased a stunning array of plants and flowers. We enjoyed complimentary tropical juice while we waited for our ride. Next, we visited the hot springs and mud pool, and my skin felt incredibly smooth afterward; the hot springs provided great relaxation. Some in our group opted for massages, and there were various stalls for souvenirs. A local man even climbed a coconut tree to get fresh coconuts. I recommend bringing snacks and some cash if you wish to buy fresh coconuts or souvenirs.
