Beachcomber Island is absolutely stunning. While the boat may seem modest compared to the larger day cruise boats, it's part of the charm, as it means fewer passengers. Upon arrival, the island resembles paradise. We spent the day swimming in the clear blue waters, enjoying a glass-bottom boat ride, and snorkeling further out. The children were thrilled to see the turtles cared for on the island and even watched as the staff wove hats for them. The lunch served was delicious. The entire experience felt like a private escape. I highly recommend this excursion for those seeking a more intimate tour.
The experience was truly fantastic. The day was incredible, with great staff, delicious food, excellent snorkeling, and everything else in between. It is absolutely worth every penny spent.
The island offered decent snorkeling, and the food was satisfactory. However, there weren't enough chairs and seating available. Given the time spent getting organized and on the boat, I believe we should have had a longer stay on the island.
Luke from Rosie Transfers provided an exceptional experience driving us back to our resort from the Port after our day at Beachcomber Island. He was friendly, informative, and a skilled driver. He answered our questions and shared valuable insights about the villages and sights we encountered. Luke prioritized safety on the road for himself and others. I highly recommend both him and Rosie’s Transfers.
This day trip was truly exceptional, combining snorkelling with various activities. The organization was top-notch, the staff friendly, and the island experience was enjoyable without being too crowded. The lunch was superb, the private turtle tour was remarkable, and the two distinct snorkelling sessions were fantastic. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone seeking a well-rounded experience rather than just being on a boat.
We enjoyed a wonderful day in a stunning environment. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and time flew by with plenty of activities available. I do suggest more beds and sun shades, as those were fully occupied by guests upon our arrival. Additionally, the snorkeling equipment could be improved, as it was basic and limited. Overall, it was a great day!
The island was stunning, with good food and enjoyable snorkeling. However, there were some downsides: the snorkeling time was limited to just 15 minutes. The ladder leading back onto the boat didn’t reach the water, making it challenging for someone like me at 68 years old. The provided "tea" was just hot water, tea bags, and a tray of cookies that resembled those from Costco—I couldn't even identify them. On the return trip to Denerau, a heavy rainstorm hit, and there was no way to close off the gap between the cabin and the fore deck, leaving everyone drenched.
The visit to Beachcomber Island didn't meet our expectations. The lunch was mediocre, and the afternoon snorkeling was cancelled. In fact, we likely wouldn't have participated since the morning snorkeling ended with many in our group suffering from jellyfish larvae stings. The local staff failed to inform us about the risk of jellyfish larvae in the area and didn't provide snorkeling suits or advise us to bring our own protective gear. I worry about how they would handle a situation if someone had an allergy. The snorkeling time was only about 20 minutes, which was disappointing. As for the "traditional dancing," it felt awkward and uninspired, performed by staff who did not seem enthusiastic, lacking genuine Fijian songs and energy. The beach itself was nice, though the weather was uncooperative with rain throughout the afternoon, although this wouldn't affect my rating. Overall, the experience does not justify the cost.
We had an amazing day, and I highly recommend this place. The grandkids enjoyed it as much as we did. On my next visit, I plan to stay here.
Avoid booking with this company. They charge significantly more than booking directly with the operator. Our tour with South Sea Cruises cost 20% more through Rosie’s compared to booking directly. It's better to go online and secure it yourself.
