When Lautoka is your base but the destination is somewhere else for the day. Fully-organised round trips with private transport, guides, and the reservations sorted before you leave the hotel.
1A full-day trip, including lunch at The Terrace and access to pools and non-motorised water sports, with around 5 hours to enjoy the resort.
“I have visited Fiji five times and I always make sure to do this activity.”— SPAINDOCTOR
2Four hours in a 4WD or minibus — explore Lautoka's markets, a rural farming school, and enjoy a traditional village lunch after a sevusevu ceremony.
“This private tour was an excellent experience. It provided a fantastic opportunity to escape the resort and witness authentic Fijian life. Lina was an amazing host—gracious, relatable, and entertaining. The visit to the local fruit market was enjoyable, and although we toured a school during holidays, it was still worthwhile. Next, we explored the highlands, visiting an Indian family farm where we learned about local living and enjoyed some delicious homemade coconut rice and roti. The highlight was certainly our time in the Fijian village, where the tribe leader welcomed us warmly. We participated in a Kava ceremony and enjoyed a meal prepared with village ingredients. This half-day tour was wonderful, and I highly recommend it to those looking to venture beyond the beach.”— loganw155
3Four hours exploring Nadi’s highlights — Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple, local markets, serene gardens, and rejuvenating mud pools and hot springs.
“This tour is absolutely worth taking. I had a wonderful experience, and Pranit was an outstanding guide—very informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend this amazing experience.”— S5888NGemilys
4Half-day tour of Lautoka by bus — visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, Fijian villages, and enjoy lunch at Vuda Point Restaurant.
“Pickup from the port was timely, and the vehicle was comfortable with a friendly driver. The weather was pleasant, but the tour mainly involved being dropped off at open gardens for a self-guided tour. This was fortunate, as a flood of other tour groups soon arrived, making the boardwalk's half-closed trails slippery. After that, we were taken to a local village for a handicraft sales pitch and a pointless stroll around a common area, with no access to any buildings. The tour ended with a stop at a restaurant next to an oil refinery for a self-paid lunch before heading back to the boat. Overall, it felt like a 20-mile loop that lacked any real engaging content or activities. It was very disappointing and far too expensive for what was offered. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.”— BellBlueSkies
5Three days covering major Fijian attractions from Nadi — gardens, waterfalls, cultural experiences, and ziplining, inclusive of lunch on Days 2 and 3.
“Our experience with Valentine Tours over three days was truly incredible, and I highly recommend them. Anand, our guide on the Nadi highlights tour, was fantastic and really enhanced our day. Visiting the temple, the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, and the Sabeto mud pools was a highlight. The ziplining was a lot of fun, with the staff being very friendly and helpful. The journey to the stunning Biausevu Waterfall and the rainforest walk was remarkable. This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Fiji, and the guides were exceptionally welcoming, making the trip unforgettable.”— Ailsa_W
6One-day access with return coach and vessel transfers — enjoy sun, sand, and Pacific-inspired dining on Malamala Island.
“This place is truly a slice of paradise. I plan to return every time I visit Fiji due to the incredible relaxation it offered. We reserved a cabana by the pool and had our own butler who arranged food and cocktails for us throughout the day. It was fantastic. My daughters enjoyed massages, declaring them the best they've ever had, while my husband took them and their boyfriends snorkeling off the jetty, where they encountered impressive marine life. My parents were celebrating their 60th anniversary, and the staff surprised them with a special cake and serenade. It was a memorable day with family, and we all look forward to coming back.”— martinanic
7Full-day private tour — visit Nadi Temple, local markets, Veseisei village, Garden of the Sleeping Giant, and unwind in a natural mudpool hot spring bath.
“Our experience was fantastic, largely due to our driver Manoj. He shared insightful information about Fiji and allowed us plenty of time at each stop without rushing. He drove safely and was very courteous. If you're considering this tour, definitely request Manoj.”— Christopher_J
8Full day cruise from Lautoka to Mana Island — enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and a beachside lunch at your leisure.
“We had high hopes for the half day trip to Mana Island despite the bad reviews being outdated, but it was a regrettable choice. We paid around $200 AUD each for a 1215 departure, expecting a lovely cruise and a buffet lunch at a beautiful island. The ferry ride to Mana Island was well-organized and pleasant, but things quickly declined upon arrival. We learned we were the only participants for the day, and our host seemed more focused on their own fatigue than making us feel welcome. The resort was eerily quiet and resembled a children’s summer camp, which was disappointing compared to our own accommodations. When we were taken to the cafeteria, we found out that during low season, the advertised buffet wasn't available, and we were handed a snack menu instead. We chose items that totaled $42, creating an awkward situation, and the food itself was mediocre. If the buffet is not available, the description should be updated accordingly. After lunch, we explored the resort, but the pool was unappealing, and while the viewpoints offered great views, the island felt neglected and didn't match the romantic Pacific Island experience we expected. Trying to get a drink on the beach proved frustrating since they only accepted charges to a room, and we weren’t guests. We were relieved it was only a half day trip, as we quickly ran out of things to do in the heat. The cruise back was enjoyable, but if South Sea Cruises had just charged for the ferry ride instead of labeling it a "half day tour," it would have sufficed. Charging approximately $200 AUD per person is simply ridiculous and feels like a scam. I recommend avoiding this day cruise and South Sea Cruises altogether.”— Andrew W
