This experience was fantastic. It's the best wine tour I've attended, and I've been on many. You feel welcomed like you're stepping into someone's home. The wines were exquisite, and the paired snacks complemented them well. With only a few tables, you receive personal attention. The atmosphere is warm and friendly.
This experience was possibly the highlight of our vacation. I highly recommend it at just €30 per person, making it fantastic value. It’s a family-owned, small private estate located just outside Lamego. We've attended many wine tastings, but this one stood out as the best and most worthwhile. Our wonderful host, Elizebetta, provided a concise yet informative tour of the wine-making process, after which we enjoyed a delightful tasting under the trees. In total, we sampled six wines—sparkling, white, red, and three ports—accompanied by delicious snacks. Unlike other tastings, the servings here were generous, not just a tiny pour. The scenery was beautiful, and although our tour was officially 90 minutes, we lingered for two hours, with no pressure to leave. There’s also a small shop where we purchased a couple of bottles, which we later found at a restaurant in Lamego. If you're in Lamego, I suggest booking a taxi to the estate (a 10-minute drive) to fully enjoy this wonderful and authentic Douro experience.
Everything was just right. Elisabeth was an excellent guide who explained everything thoroughly. The experience was very engaging and interesting; I am very grateful.
This experience stood out as one of the top moments of our trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting with Elizabeth at a quaint winery, which offered a personalized touch. The exceptional wines paired wonderfully with the local food samples. I highly recommend giving it a try.
The wine tour and tasting in Lamego at Quinta da Portela de Baixo was outstanding, set in a picturesque location with breathtaking views. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, creating a relaxed and enjoyable experience that encouraged us to linger for several hours. The wines and snacks offered were superb and reasonably priced, with the white port being remarkable and the chardonnay distinctly light and crisp. We appreciate the attentive service from the guides.
For a wine tour, I highly recommend this one; the tastings were outstanding, and the staff made the experience exceptional.
It was a fantastic experience. Our table on the balcony offered a stunning view. The tasting featured regional cheeses, jams, jellies, and chestnuts. The women serving us were very attentive. The museum is quite impressive as well.
The wine tasting led by our guide Kristina was truly exceptional. The setting was stunning, accompanied by delightful wines. I highly recommend this experience. We enjoyed a leisurely pace and had delicious tapas to complement the wines. The views were spectacular, and having the place to ourselves added an exclusive feel. Staying at the vineyard, just a short ten-minute walk away, made it all very convenient.
