Heavenly Gondola

The Heavenly Gondola is a 2.4-kilometre aerial lift that connects Lake Tahoe’s South Shore with the peaks of the Sierra Nevada. Opened in 2000, this gondola offers stunning views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountain ranges, with cabins that provide an unobstructed perspective of the alpine landscape. A ride to the top takes about twenty minutes, making it an ideal outing for both skiers in winter and hikers in summer. Once at the summit, take time to explore the observation decks and the trails that lead into the backcountry. Mornings often bring fewer crowds and the best light for photography.
