Rome is a stunning city, and we absolutely adored it. We had a completely private tour with our exceptional guide, Mohammed, who skillfully managed a packed schedule to help us see as much as possible in just 8-9 hours. Our itinerary included St. Peter’s Square, the Vatican and Sistine Chapel (where we spent 2 hours), Rome’s first Christian church, the Coliseum (1 hour inside), Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Caesar’s Palace, Circus Maximus, Piazza Navona, and more. Mohammed was incredibly thoughtful, bringing us cappuccinos while we waited in line at the Vatican and giving us coins for the fountain since we left our bags in the vehicle. He even guided us right up to the fountain railing for pictures. His wealth of information and dedication to ensuring we experienced as much of Rome as possible made our tour unforgettable. We couldn't have asked for a better guide, and we would definitely request him again on our next visit.
This tour of Rome was absolutely wonderful. After arriving at Civitavecchia by cruise, our driver was ready for us and took us directly to the city to explore. He was very accommodating, considering my elderly mother-in-law's limited mobility and ensuring we had easy access to attractions. The only downside is that having seen almost all of Rome, we feel we may not have a reason to return (though we definitely will, as the city is amazing). This experience was exceptional in terms of our comfort. The pickup from the ship's pier was seamless, and the van was spacious enough for our group of six along with our luggage. We opted for skip-the-line tickets in advance for both the Coliseum and the Vatican museum, which I strongly recommend. Our driver, Ahmed, was fantastic. He made numerous stops and offered us opportunities to get out and take photos. He was attentive, patient, and an exceptionally skilled driver.
