Reviews
The JAT coordinator lacked decision-making skills, and Velery Petryshyn was an inadequate tour guide; he spoke English poorly with a Ukrainian accent and showed little understanding of the events and timing. He walked ahead on his phone, leaving us behind. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
This tour is primarily a walking experience. While we did take a bus to the Colosseum, we ended up walking for miles. The guide seemed knowledgeable, but the headsets were filled with static, making it impossible to hear him. When we mentioned the issue, he said there was nothing he could do. I would like to request a refund, as it was quite unpleasant.
Our experience with this Rome shore excursion was excellent. The organization was top-notch from the port pickup to our return to the ship. Gabriella was both friendly and knowledgeable, and the tour's pace was ideal for a full day. We visited all the major highlights without any sense of urgency, and transportation was comfortable all day long. While it’s a long day, it truly enhances your cruise stop experience. Overall, it was a reliable and enjoyable tour.
The journey to Rome was quite comfortable, and our guide Maria made for enjoyable company. In Rome, we visited all the key attractions, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Trevi Fountain. Maria's knowledge was impressive, and she presented the information in an engaging manner that kept it from feeling like a lecture. It was a great blend of facts and enjoyment.
Seeing the Sistine Chapel in person left me in awe; it's beyond what words can convey. Gabriella, our guide who studied art history, was incredibly passionate about the Raphael Rooms, making the entire experience feel cinematic. Despite the day's challenges, the architecture alone compensated for any leg discomfort.
The driver who picked us up at the ship was delayed and couldn't communicate in English, leaving us uncertain about our itinerary until we arrived in Rome. Although the tour description promised a visit inside St. Peter’s Basilica, that was not feasible. However, the guide and driver did fulfill a special request we made. Overall, there were both positive and negative aspects of the tour, but I wouldn't recommend it, especially considering the cost.
I went on this excursion with my kids, and it made visiting the main attractions stress-free. The guide provided clear and engaging explanations, spoke fluent English, and was a genuinely nice and humble person. I highly recommend this tour based on all the services offered.
Our group of five friends had an excellent time on this tour. Elena, our guide, struck the right balance between being informative and relaxed, avoiding any formal atmosphere. The itinerary felt well-planned, allowing us to enjoy each stop without being hurried. Transportation was comfortable, and the day flowed seamlessly from beginning to end.
The tour guide was excellent, but the crowds in Rome made it impossible to visit any buildings or points of interest. We saw a lot while walking, but a smaller group size of 4 or 6 would have improved the experience. The driver assigned to transport us was a concern; she was constantly on her phone, eating, and drinking while driving, showing little regard for passenger safety. She was truly awful.
As a solo traveler, I felt at ease during the whole tour. The guide was great at engaging everyone in discussions without being pushy. The transportation was clean and on time, and the selected stops were excellent. I enjoyed the blend of historical insights and casual anecdotes. It was a stress-free way to experience a lot in just one day.
