We signed up for the “Panoramic Rome, Bocelli's Music & Wine Tasting” while on our Holland America Oosterdam cruise, docking in Civitavecchia on April 26. The whole experience in Rome was exceptional. Our driver, Andrea Muccini, was fantastic and had engaging stories at every stop. We visited all the landmarks we wished for, including St Peter’s Square, Pantheon, and Colosseum, along with several photo opportunities. The concert at MECENATE PALACE HOTEL featured the talented pianist and tenor duo, Fabio Montani and Adriano Gentili. Afterward, our lively host and his team served a delightful four-course dinner, each paired with wines from the Bocelli family vineyard near Pisa. The white wine and cheese in the second course stood out as particularly enjoyable. The terrace view of Rome was simply stunning. We wholeheartedly recommend this tour.

Our time in Rome was truly unforgettable, largely due to our driver, Peter. He promptly arrived at the cruise port, ready to provide an extraordinary tour. Over the course of eight hours, Peter shared his extensive knowledge of Rome’s history, sights, and culture in an engaging way. He expertly maneuvered through the city, bringing us close to numerous monuments and stunning views, all while displaying his pride for his city. He even treated us to pizza as a snack and recommended a wonderful local restaurant for lunch. It was a fantastic day!
