Sixty to seventy minutes by shuttle bus — travel from Civitavecchia to Vatican area or Termini Station with convenient pickup just outside the port.
This shuttle bus service provides a straightforward connection from Civitavecchia Port to central Rome. After taking the free port shuttle to Largo della Pace, you'll find the bus stop where staff will assist you. The journey to Rome takes about 60 to 70 minutes, and you have the option to disembark at either the Vatican area (Via Crescenzio 19) or Termini Station (Piazza Indipendenza).
For your return trip, it's essential to be at your chosen pickup point 15 minutes before departure. Return times are 3:40 PM from the Vatican and 3:25 PM from Termini. Note that you must purchase a separate ticket for the return journey, which is not included in the outbound fare.

Reviews
The experience was seamless and straightforward. I would absolutely recommend it. The cost was exceptional. I plan to use this service at every port in the future.
The shuttle bus took us to the end of the port where we had to walk a long distance to reach the bus to Rome. We had to wait a while until the bus was full before departing. The driver was professional, and the ride was uneventful. I would not choose this transport option again.
The journey to Rome from the port was smooth and enjoyable. The bus was punctual and comfortable, equipped with charging ports, although the WiFi was not functional.
The bus location is not clearly marked. Unfortunately, the return was delayed by 15 minutes before departure because the driver waited for late passengers.
A handy method for transportation. The bus driver demonstrated impressive skill, easily maneuvering through the narrow roads with confidence.
An excellent and budget-friendly option for traveling from the port to Rome. The service was punctual, and the representative at the port provided helpful assistance.
The bus ride itself was pleasant, but the drop-off point was a bit further than the requested location at Roma Termini, requiring us to walk with two large suitcases, which was somewhat exhausting.
The experience was quite disorganized and chaotic. Our luggage was mixed up, the 9 o'clock tour departed at 9:25, and the 9:30 tour was only slightly more punctual. Additionally, the Termini stop is a three-block walk, requiring us to navigate busy streets with our luggage.
I didn't know that the service wouldn't take us directly to the train station, so we had to ask for directions after being dropped off.
This is a solid choice if you'd prefer to avoid the hassle of managing luggage on the train from Civitavecchia to Termini. It can be somewhat confusing after taking the free shuttle from the port, as there are numerous tours and bus shuttles with their own designated stands. For this particular service with SIT, check in at the GreenLine Tours desk for help. From there, I was directed to the bus, which was just a short walk from Largo del Pace. Overall, the ride was smooth and well-coordinated.
