After our visit to Rome, we wanted to explore the countryside, and this tour exceeded our expectations. The stops were wonderful, and we experienced so much. Civita was incredible and absolutely worth it. We also scheduled a wine tasting on our return to the ship, which was the perfect finishing touch. I highly recommend this tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed our exploration of these wonderful cities. Instead of heading to Rome from our cruise at Civitavecchia, we opted to visit Orvieto and Civita. It was quite chilly during our March visit, and very windy. Since we only had 8 hours before returning to the ship, we began our tour early; had we more time, we would have chosen a later start. Unfortunately, during our stop in Civita, known as the “dying city,” everything was shut. While it was lovely to stroll and take in the scenery, all the restaurants and shops were closed. Our driver was incredibly kind and helpful. The winery was the highlight of our trip, offering stunning views, delightful wine, and warm hospitality. It was the perfect conclusion to our day. We only wish we could have spent more time in each location, as they were all remarkable.
