I joined this tour arranged by our hotel, with a pickup at about 7:30 PM and a late return around 3 AM. The drive to the Observatory takes an hour. The explanations about planets, nebulae—visible to the naked eye due to the clear sky—clusters, and asteroids were very engaging. Observing through telescopes and with the naked eye was fascinating. The late night was definitely worth it.
It’s definitely worthwhile; a unique experience with guides who are knowledgeable. The schedules are well-planned, and while it’s best to dress warmly, the night we attended was quite enjoyable.
The customer service was extremely poor. I couldn't enter during the day to take pictures because of the mayor's restrictions. I proposed a fee at the central office, but was informed that only night visits with guides are allowed. It seems they prioritize profit over accessibility. I was just two blocks from Mamalluca.
The tour operator canceled just four hours before the scheduled time without providing any explanation. It was an absolutely terrible experience, and I found Viator equally unhelpful in resolving the issue. Avoid booking this tour and using their services.
Eduardo, the guide for the astronomical tour, demonstrated great eloquence and patience while explaining concepts to the group. While some activities were limited due to resource issues, overall, the experience was positive thanks to the guide.
A wonderful location for clearly viewing stars and other planets. However, the facilities could be enhanced for improved safety and comfort, especially considering the many families with young children who come here.
The driver was unfamiliar with the route to the observatory, which resulted in a 30-minute wait upon arrival. While the tour and local guides were very interesting, the experience was overwhelmed by the crowds. There were around 100 people divided into groups of 20, and the lights and phones of other visitors were quite distracting, along with some unruly guests.
