Three hours under the stars—high-quality telescope observations and astrophotography sessions in English, with Spanish-speaking specialist guides.
This three-hour tour in Elqui Valley focuses on astronomy and astrophotography, leveraging the area's nearly year-round clear skies. Specialized guides conduct the session in Spanish, ensuring clarity in their explanations of celestial bodies. You'll have access to advanced telescopes, including unique 24 and 20-inch Hubble optics, rotating between them for a broader viewing experience.
From the outdoor terrace, you'll get a chance to observe planets, nebulas, and constellations. On moonless nights, group astrophotography is available, and during moonlit nights, you're welcome to use your own devices to capture the details of lunar craters. Dress warmly, as the temperature can drop once the sun sets.
Reviews
Everything was good, but keep in mind that the welcome cocktail is quite small and only one photo is included. Other tours offer three photos per person.
An outstanding experience with incredible guides at a fantastic location. This activity is definitely worth it and comes highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.
The transport was organized well, and the schedules were well-coordinated. The family photo we received upon arrival was stunning. The guide's knowledge was impressive, though it might be overwhelming for those less familiar with the topic. Making the exhibition more engaging and interactive could enhance the experience. Overall, it’s a very good tour.
The view from this observatory is fantastic, providing a truly enchanting experience for those who love astronomy.
Our gratitude for the experience is immense. The presentation during the tour was engaging and full of valuable lessons. Everything felt pleasant and safe with the agency. I highly recommend this 100%. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
The observatory guide was incredibly friendly and demonstrated a deep understanding of the sky. It was clear that he did not simply repeat learned facts, but allowed us to genuinely engage with the study.
The tour was excellent; they take the time to show you everything before moving on. The instructor is very knowledgeable, and the pisco cocktail was fantastic. We were able to see many celestial bodies, and the star photography was stunning.
It was a fantastic experience beneath the stars, very well organized. A special thanks to our driver Pedro and our guide, who addressed all of our questions.
This was a wonderful experience shared with my parents. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys this kind of activity.
The overall experience was lovely, and our guide Mari at Omega was truly knowledgeable and very friendly. However, the "tour" felt more like a shuttle, with our driver speeding and not engaging much. If possible, consider renting a car for a more enjoyable trip to the Omega observatory.
