Experience the rich history of La Rochelle through an engaging outdoor performance. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour highlighting the splendor of 18th-century traders. “Suzanne” guides you through the Rochelais houses with charm, humor, and warmth. All of this for just 15 €. It's a must-do.
Having American friends visiting, we went on two tours: La Rochelle, the Protestant capital, followed by The Pomp of the Merchants. Both were fantastic. Our guide's deep knowledge of La Rochelle's history and France as a whole was impressive. She told both major events and small anecdotes by embodying different characters, which was wonderful. Her excellent English helped translate any unfamiliar words for my friends. Now, I visit La Rochelle frequently, and I appreciate it from a new perspective. Kudos to our guide; such quality tours are hard to find.
The tour was quite captivating, featuring a guide who demonstrated extensive knowledge of the subject matter in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. It was a great chance to explore the stunning Rocky Mountain houses with their owners.
The visit was highly engaging. The speaker did a fantastic job, clearly explaining concepts and addressing all our questions. I definitely recommend this tour along with the one titled "La Rochelle, Protestant Capital of the Kingdom of France at the Renaissance."
The visit was fascinating and engaging. Our guide had an excellent knowledge of the subject and shared her passion with the audience through clever role play.
An engaging trip back in time led by an enthusiastic guide. With fascinating stories and new insights, we gained a fresh perspective on our city. This type of visit is a fantastic idea, and I highly recommend it. I look forward to joining more.
I want to express my gratitude to epock tour, particularly to Séverin, who was kind, welcoming, and professional. I enjoyed the playful aspect of the tour, which was both amusing and educational. It was a fulfilling and enjoyable experience that I highly recommend.
Following Françoise, who goes by Suzanne Van Hoogwerff, through the streets of La Rochelle was truly delightful. She brilliantly brought to life the stories of 18th century merchants, immersing us in their social world. The fascinating history of triangular trade and the nuances of their hierarchical society were captivating. I highly recommend this time-traveling experience.
Exploring the grandeur of 18th century La Rochelle with the talented Suzanne is an unforgettable experience. Her enthusiasm and deep historical insight illuminate the triangular trade involving West Africa, La Rochelle, and Santo Domingo, along with the significant role of Dutch traders and Protestantism during that era.
Suzanne is amazing! She has extensive knowledge about the history of traders in La Rochelle and guided us through some stunning mansions.
