La Rochelle Towers (Tours de La Rochelle)

The La Rochelle Towers, or Tours de La Rochelle, consist of three medieval structures that stand sentinel at the entrance of the Old Port. Dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, the towers include the imposing Tour Saint-Nicolas and the cylindrical Tour de la Chaîne, built to defend the harbor and the city against naval incursions.
