The tour was stunning, showcasing incredible places. What made it even better was the warm and professional service provided by Daniel and his team. I am very thankful for the experience.
This tour with Alfredo Diaz was enjoyable. He was very friendly and well-informed about the Mayan sites and San Salvador. There were only three of us, making it feel like a private experience. I opted for a light vegetarian lunch, which was fresh and offered a lovely view of Lake Coatepeque. Following lunch, we had a leisurely 40-minute walk. I highly recommend this experience.
We had an excellent day with our guide, Adonis Gamez, who provided a wealth of knowledge and information. Both of our drivers were polite and drove safely, making me feel at ease on the winding road to Cerro Verde National Park.
The day was fantastic, providing a great mix of experiences all in one go. Adonis, our guide, was outstanding, sharing a lot of historical knowledge and insights. Despite the heat, the air-conditioned van made the trip pleasant. While fog obscured the view of the volcanoes, the Mayan sites were captivating and truly memorable.
Our day was fantastic, and the tour perfectly balanced various experiences in just one day. Adonis was a fantastic guide, sharing extensive history and insights during the trip. Even though it was warm outside, the comfortable air-conditioned van made it bearable. While fog obscured the view of the volcanoes, the Mayan sites were incredibly captivating and truly made the experience worthwhile.
The tour was overall good, but there were a few things to note. We were picked up punctually and met our friendly guide, whose English was understandable but not fluent. There were two drivers, neither of whom engaged with us. The Mayan sites we visited were not crowded and somewhat interesting, but quite small. The first site resembled a Pompeii-like village with excavated homes and buildings. The second site, Santa Andres, featured a pyramid complex we were excited to see, but it is only partially excavated and the original adobe materials have mostly been covered with concrete, making it difficult to appreciate the original structures. It too is small. Regarding the volcano viewing, I found it to be not worth the time. It involves a lengthy drive, and if the clouds clear, you might see a distant dormant volcanic peak. Following that is a costly lunch in a pleasant setting, which also takes too long. The national park experience was underwhelming. The return trip took several hours. I recommend looking for a tour that combines these two sites with Tazumal instead of the volcano, as we found Tazumal to be a much more fulfilling visit.
The tour was outstanding. Our guide, Alfredo, was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He truly looked after our group and provided an exceptional experience. I highly recommend this tour.
Alfredo served as an excellent guide, showcasing extensive knowledge of the areas we visited and ensuring that the experience was enjoyable.
Alfredo was an outstanding tour guide, making our experience unforgettable. The tour bus was comfortable and had excellent air conditioning for the hour-long drives. Alfredo's extensive knowledge helped us truly appreciate El Salvador and its vibrant culture. This tour offers a comprehensive experience, covering everything from Mayan ruins to nature hikes in the national park, volcanoes, a lakeside lunch, and the best iced coffee frappe. We plan to return with more friends.
Our experience did not match our expectations at all. Despite paying $100 each for a full day of exploring Mayan sites and hiking a volcano, we were instead taken to two museums and had lunch with a distant view of the lake. The guide mentioned we could not hike the volcano because the driver was fatigued. We were promised a 45-minute hike, but all we did was sit on a bus. Once we reached Cerro Verde, we were informed we could only stay for 15 minutes, which felt pointless given the long drive. I could have visited the museums myself. The tour was misrepresented, and I plan to request a refund.
