My partner and I enjoyed kayaking, and the company was fine. However, the significant issue was with Viator. I recommend avoiding third-party bookings, as I found out they overbooked the time slots without proper communication. Instead of going on the cave tour, we ended up kayaking independently, although we would have preferred the cave experience.
I was unable to participate due to my age, which was not mentioned on the event page. I had to take the time to find another place that I could do it, though I really wanted to participate. Fortunately, we received a refund.
Beth was a good guide, but I was disappointed that we were not informed until we were in the ocean that we wouldn't be going to the caves. She mentioned that there was an injury earlier and the waves were strong, which is understandable for safety reasons. However, they should have communicated this decision to participants earlier, as my main reason for kayaking was to explore the caves.
My fiancé and I participated in the kayak sunset tour, and it was absolutely beautiful! We were fortunate to find the water crystal clear and explored one of the caves. Our guide Angie was fantastic, sharing many interesting facts about the area. I highly recommend it; it's worth every penny.
Our kayak tour was fantastic. Sammy, our guide, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We saw plenty of marine life, explored a cave, and even had two dolphins swim by us.
We saw seals on the cliffs and dolphins during sunset on the ocean. Thanks to our guides, Sammy and Maddy, for turning a good tour into an unforgettable experience.
This experience was incredible. Although I'm not typically a fan of tours, this one was enjoyable, featuring many fascinating stories and sights.
This was a fantastic 90-minute experience, and as locals from San Diego, we truly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a brief yet engaging activity. The guides were friendly and well-informed.
The experience is definitely worth the cost. I was taken aback by the distance we needed to paddle (roughly 3.5 miles round trip; one family with small children left after just five minutes!), and there was only one cave accessible. On the bright side, I gained a lot of knowledge about La Jolla and its stunning environment. The area is truly remarkable, featuring breathtaking natural beauty, attractive people throughout, and an overall uplifting atmosphere.
I had a wonderful kayaking experience. My guide, Pablo, was very knowledgeable and full of energy. He provided excellent instruction on paddling. It was enjoyable to be on the water, and getting to see the sea lions up close was a highlight. It was a perfect opportunity to relax.
