Luca proved to be an excellent guide, ensuring our safety and providing valuable information. The experience was filled with adventure and enjoyment, even though the water was somewhat choppy, we were well-guided throughout.
This experience was fantastic and is definitely a must for those trying it for the first time. My children had a wonderful time, and the instructors were outstanding.
Our experience with La Jolla Kayak was fantastic. The guides, Dane and Colin, were not only friendly but also very knowledgeable and supportive during the tour. They ensured everyone felt at ease on the water and offered plenty of interesting facts about the caves and marine life in La Jolla. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, well-structured, and unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area.
The guided kayak tour is fantastic! Prepare for potential splashes and have a change of clothes handy. Our guides, Alex and Cassidy, were exceptional and even helped a distressed bird before we explored the cave. We spotted leopard sharks, sea lions, and many birds, plus they highlighted the house of Dr. Seuss's author. Overall, I highly recommend this activity! If you enjoy documenting your experiences, bring waterproof cameras and gear for the paddling. Be prepared for a good workout targeting your upper body and hips as well!
I had a fantastic time. The instructors were excellent and really humorous. I would absolutely do it again. You will get wet and may even flip over, but that’s all part of the fun.
On Mother's Day, my daughter and I participated in the tandem kayak cave tour led by guides Luca and Amanda. We had a wonderful time in great weather, enjoying the playful conversation and even doing headstands. While the tour is labeled a cave adventure, we were in the cave for less than two minutes. We gained intriguing insights about the area, including the Garibaldi, the fault line, and The Sandcastle. We also spotted pelicans, cormorants, seals, and birds diving for fish. Safety was a priority, and although some participants fell from their kayaks, we felt secure in our life vests and helmets. There was a 30-minute delay due to traffic getting into La Jolla, but we were glad we could still enjoy our trip.
The images of the cave are highly deceptive and make the experience appear much simpler and safer than it is in reality. What isn't mentioned is that you must kayak nearly two miles through open ocean to reach it. The waves were rough, tiring, and at times quite frightening. There is a significant risk of capsizing due to the waves, which could lead to losing belongings, especially for those unaccustomed to strong ocean currents. This is far from a leisurely sightseeing tour as the promotional photos suggest. It demands considerable physical strength and stamina. By the time we arrived at the cave, we were completely exhausted and unable to fully appreciate it. The journey back was even more challenging since we were already drained while battling the waves again. I really wish there had been more transparency in the advertising because this experience felt more like a perilous endurance test rather than an enjoyable adventure. I would not recommend it for beginners, families, or anyone seeking an easy kayaking experience.
We had an amazing experience on the La Jolla caves kayaking tour and I would strongly recommend it. Our guides were fantastic, particularly Emily, who offered excellent support and enhanced the adventure vibe. We even spotted some dolphins.
I had an amazing time! The caves were incredible, and the wildlife was impressive. Riding a wave to get there was also a really cool experience. 5 stars!
We went tandem kayaking with a friend to the La Jolla caves on a tour led by our fantastic guides, Chase and Tyler. They were exceptional, and I highly recommend their tour for anyone wanting to explore the La Jolla caves by kayak.
